Once you have finished finding the forms in black and white, you can now slowly add colour to your image using layers set to color overlay. I found it to be quite effective and a lot easier than working directly in colour, although the overall effect is not as vibrant as my previous work. But I like the effect still.

Add color to your shadows. Black shadows should only be used with specific intention to do so, since they have a tendency to make things go dead. Use blue, violet, or cool green instead.
