Chapter 8

Kyrie tossed and turned in bed. He and Dracko had hardly spoken in the past three days and it was driving him mad. It had been their first big fight, well not so much fight as Kyrie yelling and Dracko just standing there listening. Kyri felt guilty about the whole thing, it was just a rumor right? Dracko wouldn’t do that to him. Would he? He should have let Dracko explain instead, but now he feared it was too late. Kyri shook his head, no Dracko wouldn’t do that. There was no way he had a year long love affair with Lady Jade and didn’t tell him.
Kyrie had overreacted and he knew it. Why was he so insecure about their relationship? He slammed his head back against the pillows and got up to find Calla. He drifted to the door at the end of the hall and knocked politely.
“Come in Kyrie.” He entered to find Lady Calla curled up on an oversized wingback chair with a fairy tale book in her lap.
“I need advice.”
“You finally see you over reacted?”
He dropped his eyes to the floor. “Yes, what I want to know is why.”
“How am I supposed to know what goes on in that head of yours? But if I were to guess I would say your insecure because Dracko’s been in relationships before and you haven’t.” She lifted her eyebrows as if in question causing her reading glasses to slip down her nose.
He hated how she could pull out the one thing that had been conveniently shoved to the side for his own sake. “What do I do?”
“First you accept the fact you have this insecurity and get over it… NOW”
Kyrie paused and looked at her a moment, “Okay”
“Now you sneak into Dracko’s room and curl up with him, and this time Kyri let him speak.”
Kyri nodded and left Calla to her reading.

Kyrie gently opened Dracko’s door to find the dragon sleeping with his back to him. He moved silently across the room and slipped under the covers next to his lover.
Dracko felt the shifting weight on the bed and soon felt the extra, angel shaped warmth pressing against his body. He smiled slightly to himself and rolled over to face his angel. Kyri opened his mouth to say something but lost the thought as he was pussed onto his back. Dracko pressed himself against Kyri’s side and lay his head on his shoulder.
“Dracko?” The voice above him was unsure and soft.
“What is it angel?” Dracko smiled as he heard the small sound of annoyance, he had recently taken to calling Kyri angel and his lover wasn’t very fond of it as true as it was.
“Aren’t you angry?” He felt one of Kyri’s fingers caress his cheek. He wrapped his arms around him and buried his face in the crook of his neck.
“Mmmulfr” He muttered against the angel’s neck.
“What?!”
He moved away from Kyri and propped himself up on his elbows looking down into those pristine blue eyes. “I said, no I never was angry. And before you ask no the rumor wasn’t true.” He was rather surprised as relief flooded his lover’s eyes and smiled down at him. “Now no more talking. Words only confuse things.” He gave his angel a tender kiss and resumed his place against Kyri’s side.
Kyri lay awake watching Dracko sleep against him a content smile on his lips. Kyrie smiled too and squirmed down cuddling against the dragon till they were chest to chest, and promptly fell asleep.
