Child of Three Thousand Generations 2
Part 2… Classmates
Naruto sat down in a seat while Michiyo stood in the entrance looking at everyone. ‘There are a lot of kids here, but there are a few who stand out…’ she scanned the ones who stood out.
‘There’s a really lazy kid in the corner, a dude with… a DOG on his head, one hiding behind some glasses and his collar, a shy girl near the top, a chubby boy munching on chips even now, and-wait. Is that a FANGIRL MOB? …Well, there are two in the front who seem to be dominant over all the others… one’s a blonde-OH DEAR GOD SHE’S THIN. Well… the other is- waitaminnit, is that pink hair? … I’ve seen weirder things in my life, that’s for sure, but…’
Michiyo sighed silently. ‘Well, let’s see who’s causing all the fuss.’
She walked further into the room, and stayed along the wall. She was unnoticed; because everyone was too busy being preoccupied with something else. But it didn’t hurt that she was silent as a phantom. Looking closer, she saw a black-haired boy with spiky hair. The hair reminded her of something, but she couldn’t remember what at the moment. She could quickly see why he attracted such a crowd.
He was good-looking for his age, and he had that same air of mysteriousness that most girls adored. ‘Buuuut… considering that we’re talking ninja, that’s not exactly a desirable trait to have. I mean, look at me!’ Just then, Michiyo noticed Naruto was sitting down next to the boy.
‘What does that blondie think he’s doing, glaring at him when angst kid has his own legion of guards?!’
Michiyo shook her head, and breathed out slowly and silently.
But then, Michiyo noticed Naruto looking at a pink-haired girl, then look away shyly. ‘Awwww… Naruto! I don’t believe it… who knew a crazy kid like you could have a crush?’ Then she saw the pink-haired girl break free of the mob, and yell at Naruto.
“NARUTO, MOVE IT! I’M TRYING TO GET AROUND YOU!”
‘Oh, MAN! What’s WITH this girl?!’ Michiyo’ eyes widened, with her eyebrows rising. ‘I only do that when I’m SEVERELY PISSED… Well, I know his name now. Naruto… hah! That’s cute!... But, maybe he doesn’t really have a crush after all…’ Now it looked like he and Naruto were fighting already.
“You want something?!!”
Then, the girl knocked Naruto to the ground as she went over him to gaze and giggle at angst kid. ‘Who does this rude, empty-headed pink-y think she is!!!?’ Michiyo’s teeth gnashed, and her face turned with anger.
“Good morning, Sasuke, is this seat taken…?” The girl said cheerfully.
‘Sasuke, huh? Well, that’s one more name. If only half…er…’ Michiyo watched as Naruto got up again. Her eyes widened as he got on top of the desk, and glared right at Sasuke. ‘No you idiot!!’ Even as pinky was screaming, she saw the person in front leaning ever so slightly backward… ‘NO!! Got to find something to stop…it…’ Michiyo searched herself wildly for weapons. ‘Where ARE my wea-…oh….’
[She was standing on a beach, her possessions gone, herself dripping wet, and the sun was setting turning everything the color of blood. She couldn’t find anything; there was nowhere to stay… She wandered, and found nothing until she lost consciousness. She woke up to hooded faces and ethereal hands flitting on her. They all turned sharply to look at her. The world was shadowy, before they dropped their hands from her, and she woke up within a wagon. Possessions were thrust upon her, and she was ushered through gates. Large gates with a big leaf symbol at the top. Before she could quite understand the situation, she had an apartment, approved citizenship, and transfer to a new school. And… a new name. She was still sorting through it all when she saw herself in the mirror. She would never forget how she screamed.]
Michiyo was busy reminiscing, and therefore, she was too late to save Naruto. She snapped back to reality to see Naruto’s wide eyes meet Sasuke’s in horror as the two shared a kiss. For a moment, like everyone else, Michiyo was frozen. ‘OH…MY…FREAKING…GAWD…! But you know, I can’t decide whether to laugh or shriek…!’
Knowing this tragic accident left Naruto as number one on the fangirl hit-list, Michiyo dashed forward, but not before stomping hard on the floor planks. Just as the fangirls were about lunge, Michiyo leaped, curled up and spun, when she unfolded to land right between Naruto and the now-dangerous fangirls. She landed lightly on her feet, making the lightest of noises. She straightened up before them and smiled. Her hand twirled before resting palm-up in a queenly gesture as she spoke.
“Ladies, calm down. I’m sure you can act fairly here. Leave Naruto alone,” Michiyo replied smoothly.
Part 2, section 2…
Everyone looked at Michiyo like she was suddenly revealed to be a millionaire. Naruto looked up at Michiyo in that same awe in front of the Academy, but with a little gratitude in his face.
“W-who the HECK are YOU? And for your information, Naruto kissed Sasuke!! Sasuke!!!” The thin blonde girl spat.
The other girls nodded angrily in agreement, looking at Michiyo as one would view a stranger.
“I know that.” Michiyo’s smooth voice had barely detectable edge. She withdrew her upraised hand.
“So… you’re going to beat him up for an accident? What for? ... Do you think that Sasuke enjoyed it?” Michiyo’s voice grew even more deadly, but her last sentence was suddenly more lighthearted as she threw the taunt at the girls.
That had an effect. Their eyes widened, and started to squeal about how that could never happen. Michiyo sensed Sasuke starting in shock. She felt his gaze smoldering her back. Michiyo sighed in exasperation.
“Oh well, no matter. But since that’s cleared up, I suppose you WON’T be trying to break Naruto’s bones?”
There was short silence among the girls for a bit. But it was short, and, just for a bit.
“Are you kidding!!? We’re gonna get him right after we deal with you!!” They all yelled.
Michiyo sighed.
“I thought you might do that.”
Michiyo raised her arm, and blocked every one of the punches thrown at her. While everyone was staring at her, she raised her foot and stomped hard on the floorboard. The opposite end went straight up and sent all the girls in the air. All screamed, before they found that all of them landed right on the benches. All except for two, that is. Michiyo caught both of them, one for each arm.
Everyone was staring at Michiyo in shock.
“Soooo… what WERE you going to do?...” Michiyo asked looking up at a pair of pink and blonde-haired girls. They stared back in confusion and awe. Michiyo’s mouth developed into an evil smile. She dropped them quickly; wouldn’t want them to aim for her when both arms were busy. She looked over at Naruto. But, he didn’t say anything, he just stared in wonder.
“You’re welcome.”
She walked down the steps to a seat at the front. Sitting down, she looked calm, but she was nearly overflowing with seething annoyance.
‘THOSE ANNOYING GIRLS!! I don’t understand what compel them to turn off their brains, and give them tunnel vision to something so incredibly stupid!!! NARUTO DIDN’T DO ANYTHING, AND WHAT DO THEY DO!!?? THEY LAUNCH A FULL-OUT ASSAULT, THAT’S WHAT!!!! And speaking of Naruto… this kid just can’t go a day without having someone take care of him! Let’s not forget the bit about not saying thank you.........................annoying little…………urrrrrrggggghhhh…..…….’
Michiyo continued to stare straight ahead, her piercing-hot gaze hidden by her wavy hair. Then the teacher entered.
“Good morning, class!” he announced. He saw Michiyo and bent down to talk to her privately.
“Michiyo! I’m Master Iruka. Really sorry that things were so last-minute… but here, take this.” He handed her a small bag. Michiyo opened it to see the same sandals that everyone wore, and something shiny reflecting the light. She picked it up to see the same headband everyone was wearing. Meanwhile, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and almost everyone else happened to be thinking about just who the heck Michiyo was.
‘I wonder how she did that, landing in front of me and sending those girls into the air. Plus, I still don’t know how we both got here so fast! That was so cool! At first, I thought she was kinda weird, asking me to close my eyes like it was some kind of ritual, but she’s pretty awesome…!’ Naruto thought.
‘How did she DO that? There was no way that plank could have gone up like that, and be solid again! She must have done something to it, like using her chakra, but what!? It doesn’t make any sense…argh! Well, at least she isn’t any threat toward Sasuke. …But, she could’ve done far worse… Either she was just saving her tricks, or… maybe she isn’t so bad. Then, is she friends with Naruto?’ Sakura eyed Michiyo.
‘Huh. Looks like there’s someone new in town. I don’t recognize her at all. She must have moved here recently, but I don’t know WHY she’s here. She doesn’t have a headband like all the rest of us… but her skills… there’s something about her that’s different than the rest of us. …wait… what is that she’s holding? Is that…is that a headband!!??’ Sasuke's eyebrows rose.
As Michiyo held up the headband, she saw a leaf symbol on it.
‘Of course! I can’t believe I didn’t notice it!! This is the same symbol on the gate…it must represent this village…’ She almost didn’t hear the rustle of the entire class behind her. She realized it must be the metal on the headband reflecting that gave her away. Oh boy. Fun… classmates. Iruka motioned to her to come up.
‘Oh, no it’s here…! It’s Time to Meet the Classmates…!’
Michiyo walked up, her hand holding the headband showing what was in it. Not much point in hiding it if she was one of them; even less now since they had SEEN it…
“Everyone, we have a new student! A new ninja, actually, but you understand. Her name is Michiyo, Michiyo Fujioka! So please make her welcome, okay, guys?”
‘Michiyo Fujioka, huh? Well, I’m going to remember her!’ Sakura thought confidently.
‘Fujioka, Michiyo… so she isn’t from here, as I thought. I wonder where she’s from, and just WHO she is…’ Sasuke pondered.
‘OH, YEAH… I remember now, I never told her my name, and I DIDN’T know hers until now! She must have learned my first name from Sakura shouting… Ohhhh… that’s not the best of first impressions, especially since I didn’t thank her. …TWICE!! I didn’t thank her for saving me, or getting here in the first place! Crap! I must seem like a bother to her, too…aw, man. I better do it soon before she thinks I’m a total jerk!...’ Naruto sank a little more.
Michiyo sat down at the desk she was at before.
“(Iruka-sensei began a speech that Michiyo didn’t really listen to, thanks to looks she could feel on her. Until…) we will begin dividing you into three-man cells. Each of them will be mentored by a more senior ninja, a Jonin… who will guide and coach you as you become more familiar with your various assignments.”
‘Cells of three people… wait, THERE’S 28 PEOPLE, including ME! What’re you gonna do with me, YOU DUMMY!!’
Michiyo waited impatiently as Iruka-sensei listed off all of the teams. Finally, she was left last.
“…Michiyo. As you are no doubt aware, there is no number to equally divide ALL of you. So, even though it’s a little unorthodox, you’ll be leapfrogging to different squads until there is a decision on which one you’ll stay on. For now, you are with Cell Seven. You know who that contains, right? Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha. Your teachers will come for you later. Class dismissed!”
