From larva to old age... if you can call it that. These aren't sudden changes - more like freeze frames from various points in his gradual development.
Stage 1: Larva.
Stage 2: Bigger larva.
Stage 3: Legs split, upright, now capable of walking.
Stage 4: Arms split off, exoskeleton is weak and fragile - still soft from his larval stage.
Stage 5: His exoskeleton has finished hardening, making him a bit blocky, but much tougher.
Stage 6: His mandiblaes have finished changing, and his body is becoming more streamlined.
Stage 7: His body is mostly done changing, but he is starting to go blind. His antennae are growing large, and improving rather impressively, to make up for it.
Stage 8: His eyes have been coated over in exoskeleton. I did not draw this one out because lazy.
