Another piece for my concept art. We had to choose an item and make a story about it. I wanted to make a symbolic piece about life and death based on this story:
"In the years following the terrible Bubonic Plague, the legend of an artifact began to circulate amongst both the rich and the poor – a flask that contained the supposed blood of a dragon, a beast thought to not exist – that granted the drinker eternal life if drank from every morning. The flask allegedly never runs dry, but will not produce unless a human’s lips are pressed to its mouth.
Many people acquired this item, believing it to be a gift from God to redeem the events of the Plague. However, because of its great value, mens’ hearts turned black and their eyes saw red; they began to kill one another so that they could have this item for themselves and have eternal life. Due to the impressionable nature of man, much blood was shed and lives claimed all in the pursuit of everlasting life. No man every kept the flask for long, for though the liquid prevented his aging he was not invulnerable to the sword, and his brother or friend would always inevitably turn on him."
I am still working on it.. or rather, I intend to when I have time. :( This is still rough.

It looks like you're off to a good start! I like how you composed all of the negative spaces in your picture.
