Wind in the Trees

Wind in the Trees

The wind in the trees,
Giving every leaf voice,
A mournful release.

The tale of times past,
Where happiness held supreme,
None hate another.

The rivers flowed blue,
The nights kept their majesty,
Humans held their peace.

But all did not last,
Fanged words bit down to the quick.
Fists raised in reply.

The rivers ran red,
The night sacred to no one,
All balance destroyed.

The death tolls rang high
The air hummed with sounding bells,
Lands stripped and barren.

Many moons took leave,
Uneasy balance restored,
None feeling relief.

The wind in the trees,
Giving every leaf voice,
A mournful release.

Hello Sheezy :) I was really happy with this poem. I entered it in for a contest on DA (the challenge was to write an eight stanza poem crafted entirely out of haiku's) and actually placed 2nd! I was really surprised considering how beautiful the other competitor's poems were. Here it is on DA http://roseadvocate.deviantart.com/art/Wind-in-the-Trees-99948399 Hope you enjoy!
