Blood stained rain chapter 3

Chapter 3

Kyrie woke early and grabbing his clothes snuck out of Dracko’s room, and silently he snuck out of the house. Dracko woke not long after and startled by the lack of Kyrie slid out of bed. He got dressed and went in search of his lover, but when he came into the main room he saw Calla staring blankly out the window tears in her eyes.
“Lady Calla?” He asked softly. She started out of her trance and stared sadly at him, tears threatening to pour out.
“He’s gone.” She said softly biting her lip. “They wont let him come back Dracko.” Tears began to fall.
“What? Who?” Dracko felt his mind racing. Where was Kyrie?
“The angelic council. They will punish him for what happened, they won’t let him come back.” Her voice was shaking as she continued to cry.
“Where Calla? How do I get there?” He grabbed her shoulders to try and steady her. She simply nodded and gave him instruction.
Within moments of Calla’s instructions Dracko was off into the sky, his midnight black wings pushing him ever faster into the clouds.

“Kyrie, what you have done is a sin of angels. Do you understand this?” A deep voice intoned. Kyrie looked up at his once mentor with long white hair and grey eyes.
“Yes, I understand.” He bowed his head again.
“You will be punished severely for this. As with all such offences you will be striped of your guardian title, your wings shall be cut, and you will here by be banished to darkness of the middle land. Do you under stand this?”
“Yes”
“On your knees then.” Kyrie did as he was told and two angels came up behind him with knives. “Present your wings.” Kyrie once again did as he was told and closed his eyes in anticipation of on coming pain. For a moment there was no movement or sound around him but then yells and screams rose from the angels around him. He opened his eyes to see blackness surrounding him. Something wrapped around his waist, a familiar warmth Kyrie thought he was imagining.
“I won’t let them hurt you.” Dracko’s soft voice came right beside his ear and he closed his eyes settling into the warmth.
Dracko heard someone coming in on his left and releasing Kyrie lunged at the attacker. When more angels came at him he pulled his boot knife ready to defend himself.
“Enough.” The white haired head of the angel council commanded. He looked down at Dracko. “You are the one Kyrie has given up his life for.” It wasn’t a question but a fact and it hurt Dracko to think of what he had cost Kyrie. “You come to save him. Fine you will fight one on one with anyone here who is willing. If you win Kyrie goes free with you, If you lose Kyrie will follow the appropriate judgment.”
Dracko turned to face the angel full on with a smile and dropped the silver ring he always wore. As the silver sang hitting the white marble floor Dracko’s wings grew in size, a long black tail with a wicked spike grew out, and his K-9s grew longer. “Fine, who will fight me?” After a few moments of silence a young female angel came forward. When she had fist come into their ranks Kyrie had been her mentor, but now Gloria was fighting against him. Kyrie felt a hand on his shoulder and looked up to see the deep blue eyes and light brown hair of his long time friend Elogio, he held a knife in his hand. He turned back to the fight to see Dracko lash at Gloria with his tail creating a blossoming red stain on her robes. Dracko turned to attack again and a second angel started toward him from behind with staff raised. Kyrie opened his mouth to shout warning to the dragon but before the words could escape a sharp pain developed in the back of his head and everything went black.

Dracko heard the angel sneaking up behind him and turned to defend himself but instantly became distracted by the vision of the angel behind Kyrie bringing down the hilt of his knife to bash Kyrie’s head. Dracko instantly went into his full dragon form. His eyes becoming slited, teeth and nails growing longer, wings and tail larger. He lounged for the angel, taking him to the ground and repeatedly bashing his head into the marble tiles of the floor until blood was gushing from it. He heard the other two angels coming up behind him and moved to stand protectively over Kyrie. He bared his teeth and flexed his claws, growling out his protest.
“Stop, he has won.” The two angels stopped in their tracks and lowered their weapons. “Take Kyrie away from here now, neither of you are to ever be seen here again.” Dracko replaced his ring on his finger and all other evidence, besides his wings, of his dragon form were gone. He gently lifted Kyrie off the floor being careful of his head and dove off the edge of the marble platform black wings spread wide to carry them home.
