Crimson Moon ch.9

Chapter 9
Keldorix Reign…

Keldorix had left Tsurugi and Saiyuke at the table, they now lay on the ground, Tsurugi was sprawled out with his sword beside him and Saiyuke’s sword and chain lay as sprawled out as him.

Keldorix had brought his wife, Mira into their room. He laid her on the bed and rolled the covers up to her neck. He bent down and kissed her on the forehead. He left the room and jumped easily on to the roof of the home. He still wore his black leather jacket. He felt the brisk evening breeze travel across his face and body under the jacket.

Something was about to happen… he could sense it… he feared for his son’s safety.

A large blaze of fire floated in the sky. Beside it a dark portal opened. On the ground, approaching from beyond the graveyard was an army of countless monsters, creatures that were roughly eight to ten feet tall. They had a very muscular build with large claws.

“Oh shit…!” The man said angrily as he stood on the roof of his home.

“Did you miss us?” A young woman’s voice came from above. She emerged from the portal and the devil from the fire. The girl was the one Saiyuke had loved and the devil was the one Tsurugi had the dream about, a being of fire with large wings growing from its back.

“Why are you going after my son?” The silver haired man yelled angrily up to the two.

The girl giggled and the devil grinned. The monsters on the ground were still advancing.

“I don’t have time for an answer.” The man mumbled to himself. He jumped off the roof; he ran for his son and gripped the sword firmly in his right hand. It had been years since he felt the sword in his grip. He held the sword horizontally in front of him, his left hand rested on the cool steel of the blade, in a blue flash the bandaged exploded off the sword and vanished. He shot towards the monsters, had easily slain two of them with one slash of the blade each then jumped back. The blade became coated in an ominous red aura, a bloody light shown from the blade. He held the sword off to his side, “Blood Shot!” He shouted as he swung the giant sword horizontally once, an enormous beam sharper than any blade and more devastating than any weapon shot out from the slash and slaughtered the horde. Once he saw the last of the monsters slain he stabbed his son’s sword in the ground.

“Just like old times! Eh?” The man called up to the devil.

“Yes… very old times…” The creature in the sky said back to him. Another army of monsters appeared on the horizon. The man left the sword in the ground. He made a pair of full gauntlets and greaves appear on him.

The gauntlets had a blade lining the forearms, fingers and on the backs of the hands. At the elbow was a thruster that drew there power from his own abilities and attacks. The greaves had rotating blades on the ankles and the heels had thrusters that worked just like the ones on the gauntlets.

The man jumped up with blinding speed up to the devil and punched faster than should be possible, some how the devil saw it coming and blocked effortlessly. In one smooth motion Keldorix flipped and axe kicked the devil to the ground, he recovered from the fall with a large pair wings on his back, the man shot down after him with his left arm forward, open and right arm back in a fist. The devil threw a ball of fire up at the man shooting downward who took the fire in his open hand and used the force of that to spin and return the blast to the devil. The momentum of that powered another punch, this one made contact and drove the devil straight into the ground. The man’s fist became lodged in the ground; he pulled it angrily from the earth and rubble. He spun with a round house from his left leg’s heel only to find it blocked as easily as his first punch.

“I see you’ve learned from our previous encounters…” The fire being spoke darkly.

“I’m not gonna put up with any more…!” The man snarled darkly. He pushed himself away from the devil with a kick. He spun to face him. He channeled lightning into the right gauntlet which started up the thruster. He held his arm back with all his might as the jet of lightning shooting out from the elbow grew larger and larger. He threw his arm forward with the force of the thruster. He charged all his powers into the weapons: fire, lightning, razor winds and darkness. The jets of the elements grew wildly and more dangerous with each punch and kick. The assault of punches and kicks was unbelievable, the speed was impossible to keep track of and growing faster still. Punching, cutting, ripping and grinding the devil to ash.

He finally cut the flow of energy to the gauntlets and made them vanish; blood stains and cuts run up and down his hands and forearms, the price to pay for all that power. He hadn’t even broken a sweat. He grabbed the devil by the neck as if to strangle him knowing nothing could put a stop to his living. He droved the devil into the ground and made his long sword appear in his free hand.

“You’ve felt the sting of Malevolence now taste the pain of Resentment!” He hissed to the devil, he drove the sword through the creature’s heart, the devil body burned to nothingness. He stood and walked toward the horde of still approaching monsters, leaving the sword in the ground. “You bitch… you should know that they pose no threat to me.” He called up to the witch.

The sword vanished and pulled off his jacket and it flutter in the breeze; a few feet away the leather jacket sank and rested on the ground.

Blades grew from his forearms down past his hands. His nails grew into black claws. Large demonic like wings grew from between his shoulder blades. With one flap the stretched out the wings and began floating a few feet over the ground, he began holding black lightning in his hands and at the tips of the blades. With another flap of the wing he went higher then dove down closer to the ground with his wings stretched out and shrouded in the dark lightning as well. He held his arms ahead of him. As he flew along the ground he left a beautiful trail of dark light and the burning corpses of the monsters. He stopped his flight by flapping the wings again to raise himself higher then lowered himself down to the ground. He raised a hand even with his face and snapped his fingers lightning rained down and scorched and destroyed the remaining beasts. He stared up at the witch.

“Wow, you’re really strong mister… I look forward to facing you myself one day.” The witch let out an evil giggle and vanished into a portal like the one she arrived in.

Keldorix stood unmoving from the battlefield, gazing up at the moon through bloodied eyes, he felt the warmth of his blood slowly flowing down his arms and the cool as stone blood of those monsters on his face.
