Description

Somewhere out there in the vast nothingness of space...
Somewhere far away in space and time..
Staring upwards at the gleaming stars in the obsidian sky

We're marooned on a small island,
In an endless sea,
Confined to a tiny spit of sand,
Unable to escape

But tonight, on this small planet
On earth, we're going to rock civilisation (repeat)

Is this bass really strong enough ?

We're marooned on a small island,
In an endless sea,
Confined to a tiny spit of sand,
Unable to escape

But tonight.... its heavy stuff!

Slam by Pendulum is amazing, and I think this picture came out incredibly too. I've been yelling at myself for not doing anything all day, and here's something.

And I feel obligated to explain how I did it, because of how happy I am with how it all came out. I wish I had shot a video of me doing it. One which probably would have annoyed me as I did the entire video with it's slight lag, and which would have to be chopped up a lot because of how often I tab off to firefox and other shit.

First I started by drawing a line to represent the horizon and an outline of the little island with the palm tree. I made a large square of navy blue for the sky, and used the brush to make a ton of small white dots all over it, about 3 pixels large at 0% hardness. Then I went over the dots with various large sizes, and much lower opacity dots to make them glow. I then made another layer and generally did the same shit. Then I edited a brush with this spray pattern, sort of like the spray in MS paint, so that it would scatter a lot, and would change opacity based upon pen pressure. I used this is various shades of blue, purple, red, green, and orange to make the nebulas. I then went to the star layer and added some fancy brush effects with various brushes I have to give it texture and variance. I then made an adjustment layer above the entire thing that darkened the thing, and used a gradient to make it fade away at the edges. I duplicated the layer, flipped it, fucked with contrast and brightness, then color balance, and then used another adjustment layer or two to get the reflection of the sky. I used the wave filter, to make it wavey, as you'd probably expect. From there I took the sketch of the island, copied it into flash, traced it, and brought it back into photoshop, and fixed the palm leaves, by erasing and redrawing it until I got a good texture, and erasing off the edges of the leaves so they appeared thin and trim. For the guy standing on the island, I grabbed a recently posted pose on posemaniacs.com (awesome site, definitely recommend it), rotated it to the right position, too a screencap, made it into a sillohette, and drew a new one next to it, with the hand moved a bit further down on the head. I think I managed to get it looking almost as good as the original. Stuck that in the middle of the island, saved, submitted, and bullshitted about the sequence I did all these events in, continually changing the picture as I wrote this when I realized I made a mistake.

LIKE FUCK ANYONE CARES ABOUT THAT SHIT.
