“Hi, my name is Rebecca. What’s yours?” the girl next to me asked. I shifted my head slightly, so I could look at the girl, but look like I was paying attention.

The girl had short blonde curly hair, brown eyes, smooth tan skin, and freckles all over her nose. She had a light pink dress on, with a pink ribbon tied around her slender neck, and pink sandals. She looked nice, but appearances don’t always tell you everything.

“I’m Eleni” I said simply. She grinned wider, probably thinking that I was now officially her friend. I guess I was, I just wouldn’t get used to it for another week or so.

“You want to eat lunch with me and my friends at lunch?” she whispered to me. I was about to respond, when I noticed the teacher glancing over at our direction.

“Is there something you would like to tell whole class, Rebecca?” the teacher’s hard voice said. Rebecca shook her head quickly, and put her attention back onto the board.

At least I would get to be in class for another 20 minutes, and then go to my next class.

I was so bored, I thought that I would look over my schedule. I brought out the small single paper, and put it on top of my desk. I looked over it:

Per 1: English; Mr. Linkey

Per 2: Geometry; Ms. Stanley

Snack

Per 3: PE; Mr. Gold

Per 4: Biology; Mrs. Rambel

Lunch

Per 5: Choir; Mrs. Lebosky

Per 6: World History; Mr. Anthony

The only names on the list that looked normal were Ms. Stanley and Mr. Anthony. Their names sounded nice, but all of the others sounded weird.

I looked at the clock; that was above Mr. Linkey’s head. Another 2 minutes, and class would be over.

I quickly stuffed my schedule into my pocket, and sat up strait. I could tell that the other kids were getting ready to leave, as well Rebecca.

Mr. Linkey was not happy, his face was turning red, and I thought he was going to blow up the whole school; right then and there.

“Stop packing up this instant! You are not leaving until I say so!” he yelled. I was pretty sure the whole school could hear his yell, and they were probably all scared at was going to happen.

The students quit shuffling their papers, and kept silent. Mr. Linkey’s face turned back to his normal shade of pale, and continued his lecture on the “Romeo & Juliet” play he saw last week.

The bell rang, and we all got up as quickly as we could. I heard a shuffle of feet behind me, and guessed it was Rebecca. I ignored her until I got to my next class. Rebecca was apparently in my class again.

She smiled as she took her seat, while I waited for the teacher to notice that I was their. She looked up from her paper, and smiled at me.

OMG! She was old! One of my biggest pet peeves was old teachers, and I just happened to have one. I groaned silently in my head.

“Hello, I am Ms. Stanley. You must me Eleni; the new student. Please take your seat to next to Miss Daring” she said in her old cranky voice. I flinched from the sound of her voice; but was able to give my teacher a fake smile.

I walked over to where the old woman was pointing at, and noticed that it was right next to Rebecca. I groaned softly. Just my luck, next to the blondie (No offense to blondes, I am one).

Rebecca smiled at me as I took my seat. I fake smiled at her, and turned my attention to the front of the class.

I don’t know how long that class went on for, but it felt like it lasted for a whole year. I sighed with relief when the bell rang, and exited the room as quickly as I could.

I felt a warm hand grab my shoulder. I growled, and turned around to face the ignorant bastard who thought they could touch me.

I calmed myself down; as I noticed that it was only Rebecca. I smiled at her.

“Hello Rebecca, I would love to accept your offer” I said.

Snack was only 10 minutes long, and then I had to go to my next classes. My other teachers weren’t so weird; just a tad boring.

It was finally lunch, the thing I was dreading for the last two classes.

I groaned, as I pushed the twin doors to the cafeteria open, and into the dangers of freshman lunch.

I had a feeling it was going to be so bad, I was just dreading the fact that I was eating with Rebecca, who I thought was a snob.

I was sure I was right, I always am.
