"Gah- this thing frozen again!?" I mumbled aloud as I gave my desktop a good whack.
Oh, so it's just 'thinking'? Whatever... Geo should of emailed me with the info by now. I want to try out this new game but- this is taking forever.
I refreshed my email a few times and then, thankfully enough- there was an email from Geo. it read:
"Hey! sorry about the wait- everything is set up now so all you have to do is log on with that same player character you made earlier. I'll be waiting at the root town so don't wander off like before...
Oh and! I've been reading the manual too so we should actually get to play today!

"
Great I sarcastically thought to myself as I exited my email and readied the game for log in.
This better be good- after all, we had been looking for a decent MMO ever since the last one we played went down. I don't think I'm really ready to dedicate my life to The World- just yet... Say, I wonder why they call it 'The World' anyway.
I put on the headset with the attached visor and picked up my controller. The game only took a few seconds to start, and loaded faster then I thought it would. It seemed a little glitchy but it wasn't
too noticeable. "Alright- time to log in." I said aloud as I braced myself and selected the Log in option.
**in game**
Whoa, I keep forgetting about the advanced graphics system used in this game. Though I still haven't really gotten to try out the game play yet... I looked around, I was in a large town with various players here and there mingling among themselves- but I had seen all this only a day earlier.
"Hey Kaze!" A voice sounded from behind. "We'll get started in a few minutes, but first I have to go to the little Axel room...

"
"Oh hey Ge-" I noticed it was Geo right away by his voice, but before I could finish my sentence I was cut off by his exit to the 'little Axel room'. "Yeah, I almost forgot- I'm supposed to call you Axel on here right..?- not Geo... Hmm, I've also forgotten that while in The World it isn't like private chat- everyone around me, can actually hear me..?"
"So you should probably stop talking to yourself, right?" Embarrassed, I turned around hearing the voice of a young girl. "My name's Liz- well, I guess my character's name is Assassin Girl. I'm also a twin blade and a new player, nice to meet you!

"
Assassin Girl? How lame... I waved with a fake smile plastered on my face. "Uh- I'm new too, my Name is Kaze"
"Oh!? You're new too!? We should party together!" The girl squealed- she seemed excited. "Oh but, what about your friend?" She gave a questionable look as she pointed to the away Axel.
What does she mean by party..? "Oh- yeah... I think he'll be up for a party..." I spoke, though I was unsure of myself.
"Oh that's wonderful! Uh, I hope one of you know how to work that gate warp thing though, cause' I don't get it. I've been stuck here for hours and no one would help me!" The girl pointed to a big gold revolving sphere.
I only had a moment to observe the strange sphere, and before I could answer her I noticed Axel's player body was coming back to life.
"Back! Sorry about that- chores as usual" Axel spoke as he approached Kaze not noticing the new girl.
"Ah, yeah well anyway this is Liz and she likes to party!" I spoke, questioning my own meaning. "I mean- she wants to party with us because we're new like her." An awkward moment of silence went by before small green text appeared at the bottom of my view area. "Wow this thing tells me when I get emails?- that's cool! I got a new one so I'll be right back."
**out of game**
I exited without giving them the opportunity to respond. I left my headset on and used my controller to switch over a few screens and then open my new email.
"Toby... don't you think we should be getting used to the game on our own before we team up with others? >

"
Huh? He doesn't like the new girl? I thought for a moment. I guess I should ask him in game, it would save time- or maybe not... I left my email and once again entered The World.
**in game**
I logged in from my short absence and was soon greeted by a worried looking Liz and a bored looking Axel. "Kaze, what was that about?" Liz said from afar, she was standing next to Axel awkwardly. "I thought you died."
"Oh sorry about that, I got an email from Axel- he was expressing how much he cant wait to party with you!" I walked up to Axel and pointed at him. "He was just too shy to let you know himself."
A confused and annoyed expression appeared over Axel's digital face. Liz's face flushed a light pink. "R-really? Is that true Axel?" Liz spoke in a quiet tone, her face now growing a deep red.
I smiled at Liz then turned to Axel who was already glaring at me, into what felt like my very soul. "Ahem, go ahead Axel tell her how you feel~

" I smirked.
"Let me just show you how the Chaos Gate works." Axel said. He slowly walked toward the golden sphere from before, ignoring what I had just said. "I'm sending you party invites, accept please." A small window popped up in my field of vision asking if I'd like to join Axel's party- it was fairly simple to understand.
I guess this is what Liz meant before, about partying.
"Good, now I'll explain how the Chaos Gate works. I'll just read what I got from the manual." He paused for a moment before starting to read.
"In The World, Chaos Gates close the town to the fields, deterring monster attacks. These gates allow access to all of the server's fields, which contain Monsters to slay and Dungeons to explore. Players assemble a code of 3 keywords, and based on those keywords, are teleported to a field whose parameters are directly affected by each keyword's specific properties. Each keyword affects specific attributes of the given field, from the type of field, to the monster level and population." Axel stopped abruptly.
"Blah blah blah, yeah so we should just enter in keywords to fight monsters. Luckily, I already overheard some keywords so I'll just enter those now- get ready." Axel walked even closer to the hovering sphere which, up close looked more like two hovering yellow-gold disks.
"Isn't Axel amazing?" Liz slowly crept up behind me- though she was staring directly at Axel. "Yeah, he sure is." I choked back laughter as I admired my own handy work in what I would soon call the Lixel project.
My observations were cut short however as Axel began to speak. "Alright so- I think it's Δ Bursting Passed Over Aqua Field?" The screen suddenly went black.
I imagine it's loading, maybe a field or something? I hope so. I felt strange- I kinda got a weird feeling from this game, like a 'life's never gonna be the same again' feeling. Then again, maybe I'm just bored?
