Sundog's - chapter 1 character concept art

So a comic idea came from a conversation about what the world was like inside of my deepest thoughts, which for me was that almost everyone wore goggles and masks. The goggles are worn by those who wish to break the illusions that inhabit the dreamscape to find deep truths and learn from them whilst the masks are worn by those who wish to become a part of the illusion to hide their intentions, identities, or become another person entirely.

These are the main character concepts for the first chapter. In order from left to right are:

Gen- He's my alter ego and thus is in charge of sorting the peculiarities in the world full of illusions and eccentric characters that make up the subconscious that he is in service to. Despite his important job he is unsure of himself and feels unsettled by people looking at him in the eyes so he wears a mask to feel confidence in his tasks.

DV- In the first chapter Gen is charged with visiting a valley that has warped into spirals and it is DV who is behind the twisting oddities. Whatever she looks upon is twisted up in her critical stare and has the townsfolk of the valley too afraid to remove their masks and garner her gaze directly on their face which would twist it into a contorted mess. She often sits atop a boulder that is held high above anything else in the valley by a twirling spire of earth. Even though she has a mask, it has a lens built into it that allows her to see far across the valley at anything she pleases.

Kyte- The only boy of the valley who isn't afraid to show his face but is the one thing that DV glares upon the most from her perch. He has a flute, an instrument connected to serenity and innocence throughout the land and sits atop his house which has been mangled into a ridiculous form by DV's gaze, and plays his flute in the night. DV rants to Gen as she watches Kyte that he must be wearing the most perfect mask in the land and that nobody is that nice or unafraid of her eye.
