In Memory of Eric and Tiny

As of September 21st, it will be my brother's first birthday as an angel - and our first of his birthdays without him. :( He would be 25 years old.

I'm not sure if all of you remember, but my brother died last year, the day after Christmas, and so very suddenly.

Today will be a hard day for us, and we're hoping to do some good, as well as celebrate by finding one of his favourite restaurants to go to. Eric was a man with an adoration for food (a chef!), so we know he'll be honoured by it.

For my part, and for my family, I have a request.

I would like everyone to try to do something for someone else today. Something nice, going out of your way for someone else, and while doing it I want you to think about my brother, and do it not only in his name, but because you want to. Give money or food to a homeless person, go out of your way to help an elderly person shop, simple like holding the door open for someone if you usually don't, help a teacher with handing out papers, make dinner for the family, be nice to someone you're normally cross with, draw a picture for someone, give someone something of yours that you know that they would want, have patience for people you normally don't have patience with, or even donate to any charity you want - However simple or extreme you may choose. I want his day to be a day of charity and kindness. :)

I also not long ago realized a lot of you may not have the opportunity or time to go out and help someone, but there is some other things you can do on his birthday - some of his favourite things! :)

Eric, Happy birthday! I miss you more than words can explain. Knowing you are the family's angel softens the pain which will always be with the void of your being so far away from us.

I hope you aren't making God laugh too hard! He has to focus, you know.
