Now this one will take a while to explain. And nobody will probably ever read this. But please do, it took a lot of work and still working, and I'm quite proud of it so far. I want to know what you think. I need critisicm. Is this even a good idea?
Alright, so this all began with a dream I had one day. The whole thing was kind of fuzzy - I, as a teenage boy, was travelling with a group of two humans, one deer, and one wolf. We were in the arctic frost, talking to someone about time travel and begging for help to defeat our enemies... whoever they might have been. Whoever they were, I knew they were after us. We were inside a cave, and I was listening carefully, but I can still only remember two lines of the exchange:
"... You aren't terribly desperate to be dragged into all this, are you?"
"Not especially, no."
Which makes me laugh. I woke up just before our enemies arrived, and an avalanche began as I did. Too bad. Seems like I missed the most exciting part.
So anyway, I was thinking about this dream for a long while before I decided I wanted to write a story about it. It's going to be an original story, and if all goes well, I may publish it. In any event, the main characters are already created, and the basic plot... maybe only for the first half? is established. It's a fantasy - talking wolves, evil unicorns, dragons that can't breathe fire, and best of all... time travel.
It begins a few weeks before the actual story begins, with a pack of wolves finding a huge red gem, about as big as a wolf's head. I have no idea yet how they obtain this gem, but I do know this - there is a white spark deep inside it that identifies it. The wolves's leader, a big dark gray wolf named Cyril Hadiya Ayla, recognizes it, and has his mate, Maia Lyric Ayla, tell him the legend surrounding it. Her first mistake is complying.
As it turns out, this gem can be used to control time. With this, Cyril realizes, he could take over all of space and time!
Their daughter, Syon, can see where this is headed. So, before he even begins, she steals a small piece of the gem - it's too large for just one wolf to carry, and hurries away through time, to try to find people who can help her defeat her father. And so the fun begins.

A two-year-old white wolf with a black tail tip. She usually wears her time travel gem on a gold chain around her neck. She is intelligent, self-reliant, strong, and independant, though headstrong and feisty. One of the central figures of the story, she comes from the year 2010, where her family comes from.
~ Maia Lyric Ayla ~
Syon's mother. Only the fifth in the line of Cyril's mates, she is very careful around him and so has lasted longer than most. She is four years old, and is a gorgeous silver wolf - her looks, of course, are what did her in. She dislikes Cyril and only married him because she was forced to. She is gentle and fearful.

The wolves's dark king. Hardly the greatest candidate for the job, but he is cruel and rules with an iron fist, and so deals with any sign of an uprising before it has the chance to happen. He is eleven, having married Maia when he was nine. He had four mates prior to her and slaughtered each of them for a different cruel and unfounded reason.

A bit of Cyril is shown in that Kieran's middle name means "Son of the Wise Ruler". Not quite as exotic as some of the other names I chose, but it fit. Big, black, five years old, and arguably crueler and more sadistic than his father, Kieran loves only two things; causing pain (especially for his half-sister), and Malkah.
~ Malkah Nyssa Honor Alya ~
Would ya believe it, she joined the royal family willingly. She was betrothed to Kieran before meeting him, and she and he are so alike, they actually fell in love after they married. Honor is her maiden name. She is also five.
~ Calhoun Mark Ayla ~
Only one year old, Calhoun is the son of Kieran and Malkah, and Syon's nephew. He is very childish and playful, but has learned to behave cruelly in the presence of his parents.
~ Truth Hope Honor ~
Seventeen years old, and possibly the oldest wolf in the pack, Truth has been the pack's healer for almost 16 years, and knows all there is to know about it. She will, however, retire soon. She is Malkah's mother, and doesn't seem to have an opinion on her daughter's marriage.

Another important character, David is a fifteen-year-old boy living with his mother in a two-room apartment. He hates being called David, so he goes by Dave, or occasionally Dell. He was raised by his mother because his father died of an illness when he was only eight. They are rather poor, but he did manage to scrape up enough to afford a cheap laptop. He is very proud of it, and his skill happens to be hacking and using computers.

Thirty-five-year-old Catherine, or Cat to her friends, is Dave's mother, and works almost every waking moment as a waitress at a poorly run, in-the-red cafe called, ironically, the Sunshine Cafe.

About eight years after his son was born, Anthony died of a serious disease. He would be thirty-seven. He was kind, gentle, and tough, and liked to tell stories. He and his son were very close.
~ Kaleb Meyers ~
Dave's cat, an orange boy that wears a red collar. He can talk, but, like all animals, doesn't let the humans know about this as he fears he may become some sort of freak side show. He is sarcastic, but caring.
OTHER
~ Dyani Ami ~
A shy deer, Dyani doesn't talk much. She lives in the same year as the wolves, and is terrified of them as they killed her family. The group thinks she may have vital information about the gem and it's gaurds and location, but, like I said... she doesn't talk much.

Seriously. I need a name for this girl. She is a slave, fourteen years old, in the year 1726. She is one of the people Syon recruits for the team. She is tough, strong, careful, and skeptical, and is usually the one that points out the flaws in bad ideas. A girl that can look out for herself.
~ Ann Ray Smithson ~
Ann is one tough girl. She likes to fly planes - her father taught her how a long time ago. She is sixteen, from the year 2089, and cars still don't fly. XP She can fly with the best, and could fix a plane blindfolded.
~ Aliya ~
Aliya is a dragon, big and beautiful. She is only around the size of a car, very small, young for a dragon - 407 - and cannot yet breathe fire. She is originally from the year 1602.
~ Hunter Rex Adira ~
Not all unicorns are good and pure. This one joined the wolves in return for treasure. He is originally from the year 1400, and is very greedy and selfish. He is also, unfortunately, a great fighter.

Basically a fighter for King Cyril, he is an eight-year-old wolf.
