So I wanted a hair stick to put my hair up, but couldn't really find any (perhaps I wasn't looking at the right stores?) so I decided to make my own :] I am trying to be a little more eco-friendly, so I reused some chopsticks I got at a Vietnamese restaurant (since I used a fork there anyway).
I cut a bit off the ends, sanded and filed them a tad, painted them (blue with nail polish, green with acrylic paint), put in eye pins, two jump rings, a little bit of chains, and the two charms, and voila. Didn't do a pair since the only method of using a hair stick I could figure out, from several you tube videos, was with only using one sticks, heh.
I was hoping that since they didn't take too long to do, I could eventually sell a few on etsy or ebay, but I dunno if they'd come out too expensive since I can only think of Hobby Lobby to buy the charms, and so they'd have to be like $4-5 for a single, and $7-8 for a pair. That might be too pricey, unless someone really wanted a certain kind of charm that doesn't all ready come for hair sticks. What do you all think?
