Part 2 of the coloring tutorial. You can read Part 1 - here

This part is made to cover more of the techniques that I apply personally to my artwork when coloring. It is by no means something you must follow word by word. In fact, I encourage you to take these techniques and apply them in your own way. Please understand this is all opinion - so there is no right or wrong.

You can visit COLOURlovers as covered in the tutorial - here

I also uploaded a few line arts of pieces in my shareables that I felt would be good to practice with. Since sometimes you want to color but don't have the line work. So consider these to be a online queenfish coloring book.

The piece featured as the Step by Step is not in my gallery at this time. I will post the finish version in October.

I think that is about it! If there is any spelling or grammar mistakes - please let me know! And also, ask any questions you might have and I'll try my best to answer them.

Sounds like a good toutorial. I need to keep this in mind when I begin my training on photoshop.

This is a very, very well done tutorial! I've seen some good ones before, but it's nice to finally see someone explain why they've done what they've done (in the case of the yellow in the hair and red in the shadows on the body). And i think I'll take you up on the "coloring book", lol. Your images will be a lot of fun to color! Great job, Queen!

Question: Why do the bewbies taunt me so? D:

This= Love.
I have horrible coloring ability, im going to try your method and see if it makes my art more appealing to the eye xD THANK YOU!

koshizzle Says:

i absolutely love that you've included color theory in this, and that it's not just a "put highlights and use this brush-size" kind of tutorial. this is fabulous.

Lost Love 27 Says:

This is wonderful. Awesome job.
I will most definitely reference this when I'm stuck or need inspiration.

Could you recommend any photoshop-like colouring programs, that are free to download? I'd like to try colouring on the computer, see if I like it more.

Zenith Astra Says:

Thanks!

GIMP has about as much tools as Photoshop, but I can't really back up that statement since I'm still a nub at using GIMP :/ (google gimp download if you want)

Anyway, the best part of that tutorial is not using blacks so often. It'd be useful in the future. Very. :)
