Wow... just... wow...
I had no idea I was capable of this kinda thing. I think my old CGD teacher would be so proud... really... I would...
In fact, I'll pay Mr. Fox a visit tomorrow and show him what his "Most Creative CGD Student" (yes... I won that award last year...) has figured out...
So... basically, this is actually one of my favorite moment for the fanfic series. It is not only part of Mephiles' turning point... but also his one moment that definitely gives him the spotlight as an awsome character.
He, despite losing a great deal of blood from a shoulder/chest wound, still manages to keep Shadow at bay, while he tries to protect Rouge, on account of him and Shadow being personality flopped.
The fuzzy fur and quills are a nice touch to this, and I am really pleased with the eyes for once (yes... I felt my last attempts were actually lacking emotion... and eyeshine...). The shading near Shadow is, of course, from a tree, as they are in Forest (yes... the gamer's guide had it listed as "Forest"... I actually used the gamer's guide's map to keep the location consistent when I was writing story one...
).
The background, actually, is from tiles used in Sonic Adventure 1, because I didn't want a crappy background killing the mood of the picture. So that credit goes to Sega... as does my font style used here.
Now for a "Teaching Darkness" fun fact!:
For my style of Mephiles... if you were to shave his crystal quills halfway down... you would find normal dark blue quills. Yes... his crystals are only on the edges. But they will grow back after about a week or so...
Another fact: Mephiles' hands and feet in the (fanfic) series are 100% crystal, but cannot be broken off, or chipped. They function just as our own.
