For the first project in my Basic Drawing class we were assigned to make a piece using a full range of pencil values. In addition, in order to develop our senses a little more, it was meant to have some sort of meaning that is to be explained in our critique.
This is honestly the first time I've done a pencil piece like this in over six years! God I forgot how much it cramps your hand. It was definitely a learning experience though. Now that I'm older and wiser I noticed several things that would have surely slipped by me years ago (such as the annoying buildup of dust on the tip of my h4 pencil).
I found this to be very valuable as I've become so used to simply sketching things out and moving on to the computer from there. Now, suddenly I had to plan, take my time, and *think* about what I was doing and why. It made me wish there were undo's in real life
I edited the contrast and brightness to compensate for the fact that it didn't fit in my scanner bed completely and was a little to dark and grey. If you are wondering, there is supposed to be another little 'dude' on the right side with a rocket trail leading from him to the robot's raised arm.
