Kairi - Happy Birthday 2008

a birthday card for izumi (and ryou, but iunno if she'd like it... :(). both of their birthdays are today, August 26. it's always to remember their birthdays, especially since they are 3 days before mine.

izumi's favourite colors are pink and white and she is a fan of cute things and stars, so i tried to incorporate that into the design, which i have successfully done, i think. the colored and star background is heavily influenced by =VampireJaku. I already had an idea for the 'cloudy' beach, but the sky, i wasn't exactly sure on... but i do like those colors in the sky, since they do remind me of destiny islands in the Kingdom Hearts series.

despite that i find kairi between the lines of girly girl and tomboy, i'd think she'd really enjoy just having the icing on the cupcake (this is also nfluenced by izumi, who tends to lick off the icing herself). i also wanted to make some more touch ups to make this drawing different, so i subtly added some eye shadow and pink nailpolish.
