This was a project for photography last year. Basicaly, we took a typical flourecent light bulb and carefully broke the outer shell. then we removed the inner part, and srewed it into a socket. We plugged that socket into a switch thingy (I'm tired, so forgive my empty mindedness) that was switched off. We turned off the lights, and turned on the bulb. The Oxogen caused the inner filiment to burn for about two seconds, then go out in a flash. We had to take a picture as fast as we can, or set it to multishot. Afterwords, I changed the colors using photoshop, my inversing the colors, then using overlay over the flame.

That's beautiful. It reminds me of a drop of paint in water.
