The concept of Angelus vel Everto comes from the fragile balance in Black Jack’s personality. He believes strongly in life and the preservation thereof, but he is also dark in nature and very greedy, and will even turn down patients who do not have enough money to pay his exorbitant fees, though he will sometimes go against his word and help someone with no money.
He has the hands of God, the appearance of a demon, and a heart that struggles to balance good and evil.
