Before anyone starts thinking I've started a bunny-girl fetish, I'll say now that, no, I don't.
Actually, I mainly wanted to do this piece to interchange the costume, background, and name colours

Yes, I'm pathetic... And I kinda hate the way Yuki and Mikuru's skin turned out. It's all blotchy and icky
I'm still not sure who my favourite character is! Haruhi is crazy and bossy and a freakin' God, Kyon is so sane and realistic and cynical, Mikuru is just cute and I feel so bad for the poor girl, Yuki's just there and is all composed and awesome in her own quiet way (and she kicks major ass), and Koizumi is just pretty (and, not trying to sound like a yaoi fangirl or anything, but why did it always seem like he was trying to get as close as was possible to poor Kyon?...). And all the other side characters are just fun.
On another note, and since I've finished the series, in both English and Japanese (prepare for a longish rant), I can now say I really do appreciate The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Not because of the fan-service, the awesome characters and story, or even the fact Haruhi is a God; I really respect this series for its (and this is gonna sound ironic) reality.
Kyon is such an optimistic cynic, as Crispin Freeman called him, and is probably the most realistic anime character I've seen for a long time, with the way he reacts to each situation and just kinda goes with the flow.
And the conversations that take place throughout the series are really like normal everyday converstaions in real life: they take their time explaining things and don't just immediately jump in and tell you all the important stuff right away, and don't skip over the "boring" or "unimportant" parts.
In fact, I don't think I've seen such a short series which has so much happen in it; it's not one of thoses shows where stuff happens yet nothing of importance really occurs.
This show just totally uses every single genre, and yet doesn't even really fit into one itself.
It's just about a normal person going through a very unordinary high school life with very unordinary people.
It might sound cliche, but it's just done so well, and that's really why I love this series.
