This is a hymn set to one of the most gorgeous instrumentals I've ever heard: the ironically-named "Hell's Kitchen" by Dream Theater. And before anybody gets on their high horse about putting those kinds of lyrics to a Dream Theater song, I recommend actually getting out your copy of Falling Into Infinity and looking at what John Petrucci did with the very next song on the album.

Anyway, this hymn is intended to belong to one of the characters in my novel, The Way of the Shadow Blade: Thorn. As I imagine him, Thorn would have an identical voice to James LaBrie of Dream Theater. While I have neither the voice nor the gender for it, I still wanted to get my imagination out in some form or another.

This has been posted as a no-download shareable because the backing track was done by Dream Theater. Here is a link to the lyrics, which are scorable/fav-able as a work in their own right.

Please notice while I have done my usual production work on this, the singing is going to be a little rough even after that. But this is a prayer, above all: expressiveness came first.

(NB: The language you hear at the very beginning and end is Aramansch, a language I created for the Shadow Blade world.)

I wish I could have told you this earlier (and I didn't because I was afraid to sound like one of those random one-word comments) but I really love your voice, especially with Dream Theater's music. Gorgeous job!
