The Wake

Loathe the darkness
What once was dear
The sorrow found in shadows' wake
Now I see with fear

The light has permeated
To the deepest of my eyes
Shining from my fingertips
Sunlight on the rise

The night-time was my refuge
Now I shy into the day
To walk beneath the morning light
Is the only way

No more hesitation, love
No more time for fear
No more room within my heart
To hold the darkness dear

Snowy feathers swirl around me
Warm arms hold me near
No reason, now, within this light
To hold the darkness dear.

I'm really proud of this one.

One of these lines may need explaining. "The deepest of my eyes" probably seems very odd until you've looked at it harder.

Remember, the eyes are the windows to the soul. So basically I was saying "to the deepest parts of my soul." In other words, light shed upon my core.
