You Know..

It was just the two of them in that spacious room of his, conversing and laughing like old friends. During the summer months, 'Saruzawa A' and Kurosaki Ichigo had grown closer. They spent their days either by the town river or the park, where Saruzawa would proceed to buy as much ice cream as her low budget would allow and attempt to swallow it all. Usually she succeeded, and ventured after Ichigo's. Though the glutton annoyed him from time to time, he definitely enjoyed her company.
They'd finish up the ends of their adventures in his room, recapping the day's events and talking about nothing for hours. Sweet ends to the hot summer days.
"I did /not/ 'gulp down' that man's ice cream! He was holding it out anyway, he should've expected someone to just eat the dang thing." The foreign exchange student giggled as her companion shot her a skeptical look, a smile tugging at his lips. "Sure, whatever you say, toadstool." Toadstool was his odd little nickname for her-- since, over time, he had actually grown taller than her, and was a little over six foot compared to her five-nine. At the sound of the ever-so-familiar nickname, Saruzawa grimaced. "Don't call me that..."
Ichigo merely laughed and reached towards her, carefully pulling off her glasses and studying her carefully. "... Y'know, you're actually pretty cute without your glasses."
Her face immediately reddened and she stared at him, gulping a little. "R-really? Heh~... " She shot him a shy smile before turning away from him.
He grinned in response. "No problem, toadstool."
"WHAT DID I JUST TELL YOU?!"
