Ella's poem
In a land where sockless people roam,
a little girl sits, longing for home.
With baby blue eyes and a devilish smile,
She talks to her imaginary friends Kim and Kyle.
As they talk all three pause,
for quite a justifiable cause.
As poor Ella's stomach begins to growl,
The wind picks up and begins to howl.
In order to live, so said Kim,
Ella went out with the light real dim.
In she went to people's houses
where they lay asleep with their spouses.
There she stole a most sacred thing
a thing to which people cling.
She took the socks out, and stuffed them in her mouth.
Out through the window she went, then darted to the south.
On a near-by ridge a pie was cooling.
She ran on and realised she was drooling.
Ella continued on, pausing for a whiff.
Too bad she never saw that cliff....

jauntyporkpie Says:
Cute! It's got almost a Tim Burton storybook quality to it.
The second to last line is a little confusing - is she continuing or is she stopping to smell the pie?
