I did so like Bruce's design from earlier, that I went and made another picture. And it appears a character is being further developed...
Bruce appears to admire the abilities of human beings, so much so that he's started to mimic some of their interests and abilities. He's always up on his hind feet when on the move, wears clothing most of the time, and even likes to toy with humans' gadgets. Much like a Pokemon Trainer, he fights other trainers to earn both experience and monetary rewards; this is how he can afford to get such things. Without a doubt, other Pokemon ridicule him as much as most humans.
At the moment he's taking another, much more difficult step towards being more "human." He is attempting to learn the human language! Because he's had trouble communicating with humans in his own language, he thinks this will be beneficial. But it will take time for everything to register in his mind. As you can see, he's struggling even to understand our alphabet!
At the moment he's also using one of the human gadgets, a digital audio player. Called a "Tuné," this gadget is fashioned after a Pokeball. Either Bruce is listening to some music while he studies, or he could be attempting to comprehend speech lessons. He can understand human speech, but it's reading and speaking it himself that's troublesome...
When I began to color this in, I was going to do so in the method I used previously for his last picture. But then I decided to try something a little different, and as a result there are no outlines. I think it looks fairly decent in this style, but it's a little more time-consuming. And as you could probably tell, I pretty much shafted the background. X3
Thankfully, I have Bruce separated from the BG by layer, so I could single him out if I wanted. I do need a new desktop wallpaper... :3

That's a thick alphabet book. I wonder, soes it have the entire history of each letter in there?
Jesting. it's rather cure that he's trying to be human.

Ya know, something just dawned on me. If he's in a world where there are Monster Trainers and whatnot, why hasn't he been caught? Is he already coded* to another trainer himself? What happens if you catch a Pocket Monster that's already been data-fused to another trainer (and their Monster Ball)? All of this sort of stuff really drives my curiousity and keeps me at least somewhat interested in Pocket Monsters... The older stuff, anyway.
* More details on that thought process of mine can be found in my most recent Journal.
