That's right folks... It's a hyena/bear thingy. Draw for some friends in chat as an illustration to a predator they kept have nightmares about. This is still a WIP, as I'm now making it my own and playing with markings and bemoaning the fact that I suck at drawing fur.

Interesting nightmares! If you look back in the fossil record there really was a similar creature that was the predecessor to modern bears, dogs and hyenas. (Not sure about cats or mustelids though, I'll have to go look it up again)
Still, can't be as scary as my nightmares about Spiderwasps.
