I once heard a story about a human race unlike our own.
They all lacked the ability to see with their human eyes, and so they thought it impossible to survive.
Then a giant beast swooped down from the skies, and graced one human girl with the ability to see, and told the child, "I will teach humanity to survive, because right about now you all look pathetic."
The giant flying beast taught the child of the things she saw, taught the child how to use the things she saw, and lastly taught the child how to teach other humans how to use what she saw.
The girl, and all humanity were for a while ever grateful to the giant beast, who pitied them, and showed them the ways of survival.
But as the years stretched on, humanity grew hateful and jealous of the growing girl and the giant beasts who could see all, while humanity scraped the floors with their fingers to get around.
The humans used the hunting methods the giant beasts had shown them to capture them all.
With that, they took the eyes of all the giant beasts they came across, until no living thing, besides the growing girl, had the ability to see.
The growing girl, so distraught by the selfishness and jealousy of humanity, turned to the giant blind beasts.
She vowed to forever close her eyes, and to never see with them again.
And then I sucked at drawing. :c
