Riding

Riding

Carry your bike outside and quickly jump on.
Ride as fast as you can and feel the pedals scratch at your ankles like mosquitoes bite at
your ankles.
Feel the air blow upon your face and the leaves run across the street, almost playfully,
As if they were playing with each other like little children in the middle of the day.
Switch gears; now you’re riding up hill.
Stop for a moment, catch your breath, and think about how fast
You were going and take a sip of water.
Get back on and race yourself. Race the light and the sound and all the things that just seem to be chasing you down.
You go faster, and faster, you almost fall,
But you end up catching yourself.
You see people coming up behind you and let them pass.
You see pets running as if trying to stop you but then you realize
they were just running after their owners.
When you get home, you drink gallons of water and thing,
“Wow, was that a ride, or what?”

This is just another of my lame poems that I'm putting up here. Please, do try to enjoy.
