Now, I had a fabulous idea.

Instead of doing one set of fake starters, I'd do TWO! One for the trainer of each gender.
(Which would mean rival battles would be hoot-riffic, I guess)

Its hood is actually a swimmeret. It lazily swims along beach coastlines in search of food.

It has very powerful leg and tail muscles. Occasionally, trainers report breaking ankles due to this pokemon's occasional blunders.

SPRITTY (Sprout + Kitty)
Floral Cat PKMN

Ability: Overgrow
It spends a lot of time in the sun, just like any cat. The sun helps to nurture the little leaf on its back.
