new port for my character on furcadia.
people often bug me for ports. i often respond by complaining that they hurt my eyes and wrist to do. and they do hurt. a LOT.
when you take a break at the 5 hour mark, remove your glasses, and REVEL in the blurry darkness of silent hill for a half an hour, you've entered the special HELL reserved for me working with pixels. when you fall asleep at 6am, then wake up a few hours later and your eyes STILL hurt but you jump right back in to the pixels, you've found why i don't do ports for other people.
there's a slight sepia blur on all three of the bottom images to prevent theft. but go ahead. tilt your moniter. put your nose to the screen.
squint. FEEL MY PAIN.

while talking with

i realized i forgot to note that each colour (clothing, markings, skin, hair, etc) can ONLY have a shading depth of 8 shades, at MAXIMUM. you are limited to a very specific set of 256 colours if you want your port to remap to character colours in the game (and this one does).
also, this was done with a mouse.
eat my dust, tablet jockies.
this port is for Clockwork. if you see it on anyone else, it was swiped.

Dude, I feel you. I haven't done a port in over a year 'cause they give me eyecancer.
That's a fabulous picture though! I love your style. 8D
Quezy Says:
OMG. It's you!! *latches* I didn't realize it was you 'til I took another look at the picture. How's it going, Shimo??
Brass Teh Shapeshifter Says:
I imagine that'd be quite hard.
; I haven't done a lot of pixel art on a larger scale like that, and whenever I have it always really hurt ahaha
Though you can be cheap and use the pixellate option on any photo-manip program ahahahahah

I feel your pain(t)! It's not uncommon to spend over an hour or more just making sure that a grass tile repeats smoothly! Oh and trust me 256 colours is a godsend compared to 6-Bit (64 colours). Happy Pixelation!
nice ;p reminds me of when i would plya sim city 3000 for way too long. close my eyes and i would see grid lines everywhere ;D

You sound like your eyes are in agony. To the point where you wish you could tear them out and soak them in ice water for a while.
It's great work, man, seriously. But I doubt anything is worth that kind of torture
