So once upon a time, there was little girl who wanted her aunt to make her a picture of a "Snow Queen."
After making just such a request, the aunt replied more or less with "Sure!" And then went on merry way having art block and other fun things and the painting really never was taken care of.
Then one day, the evil step mother (who wasn't evil and also wasn't a step mother) informed the aunt that the little girl was growing impatient because, after all, "What's so hard about drawing a snow queen?"
Feeling guilty, the aunt sat down and started drawing. And this is what came out.
She's still not sure why there are glowing fish in the frozen pool but her art block seems to be ended and Evil Stepmother (you know, the one who's not really a step mother...or evil) assures her the niece will love the painting. So they all lived happily ever after.

Gorgeous as always. I adore the way you color/draw trees. They definitely have a very fairytale-esque quality to them. I like the fish in the frozen pool... that's my favorite part.
They add a bit of mystical touch to the piece I think.
Moral of the story: When in doubt, glowing fish.
This turned out great. I like the way that the roses down her skirt lead into the school of fish. I have to wonder if she and the swans are cold, being all bare-shouldered in the snow...but I guess "snow queens" like the cold. Heehee.
What color did you use for her skirt? It's a nice one.

Okay, first of, her face ended up looking great so STFU [I LOLed at the cannibalism.]
Other than that, the tree has so much texture and movement, I really adore your backgrounds, Son. TELL ME YOUR SECRET.
All the swans looks excellent, too, and the watery dark sky really sort of gives you a wintery feeling.
Oh, and I like how the glowing fish [wtf Lisa] are sligtly yellow. Part of them, anyway.

Did anyone think of "Mummer Dance" by Loreena McKennitt when looking at the title? I swear I glanced at the title and I was like..."I know that this is a piece of the lyrics of a song....but what?" then I eating cereal, my hands got sticky from the sugar since I eat with my hands (stupid stupid me lol) so as I was washing my hands I started humming mummer's dance and was like "OMG THAT'S THE SONG!"
