This is like the 3rd digital tablet sketch, I did of Shikamaru. Without reference, except for his facial expression, which is very important. I've now drawn him enough not to need any. Ino, is another story... yuck, although I tried.
Drawn on Open Canvas 1.1, little fixes with Photoshop7. Colored mostly with OC.
I had fun with this and not so much fun. I'm not happy with Ino, I was trying to color her hair more realistically but... Nothing like how I color hair in PS7, but that's okay.
Hands a big pain, but I'll keep working at it.
This picture took longer than expected. I put it off like for 2 days. One evening I wasn't feeling too well, stomach wise, to sit here and finish it. And the second skip day I had company over. I had to entertain guests that day, so no time for art.
Overall time: several hours, less than a week.
Programs used: Open Canvas 1.1 and Photoshop 7 for fixes and added effects

It's an interesting technique you've used to shade her hair. One thing I might recommend is changing colors along with shadow too. Like in the shaded parts of her hair, you've made it a darker yellow? I would actually move the color slider up a bit toward orange too. Just a tad. It'll give it a bit more color depth that way. The same trick works for skin tones too. If you try it sometime, I hope it helps!

Very nice! I think this is my fave Shikamaru of yours =) Ino looks really cute as well. Her eye is beautiful. Hands are annoying to draw and I can't draw them for crap...yours look fine here IMO. InoShika is a great pairing :) though I sorta lean towards TemaShika lately since I love InoCho
