Tiger God III: A further exploration of an older "Tiger God" idea I'd done years back (see
Tiger God - Red, actually from 1995 but uploaded in 2000) - I was inspired by Tibetan and Indonesian art. Neither this nor the older piece were meant to depict "real" tigers; you can see how I played with markings and facial structure. He also doesn't have whiskers - on purpose.
I liked the jewels at the time, but if I re-did this I'd tone them down a lot.
Micron pen, Prismacolor & Design pencils, colorless blender, on parchment paper, with some touch-ups in Photoshop 7 to fix the bad scan.

Very impressive. The highlights on the jewels make them look almost real. And the way you colored/shaded the face is amazing.
