Equipment ; One size fits all

Just a quick doodle, but i got a whole bunch of nit picks of Dragon Quest monster Joker, and other games like it, that you can equip your monsters some 20 feet tall, and some smaller than your foot with the same equipment (The Miracle Mallet being a example), this was just in my head floating around there, and i just wanted to draw it out. but this is what i see when i try to give a slime a mallet i just used on a Giganties. (to me it would be either to big for him, or the giant is using a toothpick.)

but seriously, Size should matters.
(but a giants version should be not equipable on a babble)
or another issue, is how can something without arms use a hammer anyway?
