EDIT: I've recorded an audio version of The Race, for those who prefer listening.
I wanted to post something non-romantic, just to be different. The whole poem fits in the preview, if you'd rather read the text without listening to my weird-sounding voice.
I'm hoping to convert more of my writing into audio versions, so please let me know what you think.
Thanks!

Wow, only two comments? People here must not appreciate good poetry!
The imagry is just great, I usually don't picture much when I read something, but that brought up so much in my head.
Oh, and congrats on the feature!

great poem, not many here apreciate poetry, sometimes it can go days without a single view...
Hean Says:
Actually this one sounds pretty good, well done. And as other people have said :S This site doesn't go too much around poems, but then again it's sometimes hard to find a good one.

This is really kick ass.
I am sorry I didn't see it when it came out. I would have commented this after I saw it. Great use of words. It seems like you either had a child, or you wrote this poem to try to get into one person's head that had a child. To feel how they were feeling. This poems seems just to have several perposes. Great job.

Delicious imagery
and so unique, too, thats mostly why I like it. You painted a better picture of the scene through words than if you had actually...painted a picture.

cool

Now this is VERY nice...without being too wordy, you've created a scene that I feel with all of my senses. And congratulations on the feature. I'm so glad to see writing being featured at last--it's been too long!
