This is 4/4 of Art ISUs I was suppose to do this year.
The theme I chose was: LOVE
The medium I chose was: WATERCOLOR
The inspiration was: the song "爱如空气", or I guess direction translation would be "Love like the Air".
Time: sunday, monday, tuesday morning + lunch + afternoon 1st class
Not much to be said... this one took me quite a while, actually. I already have a painting inspired by a story, a movie, and a manga, what else could there be...? I happened to be listening to this song, and so I decided on this.
Colour wise, I'm more used to using blue, white, black hues, so this brown/yellow-ish tone is really new to me, and in that sense, I think the colours came out quite well.
Watercolour wise, due to laziness and lack of time, I painted the entire bg colour first, then worked my foreground ONTO the background, thus her skin is so yellow. =/ wish I had remembered NOT to do that, like with my last ISU....
overall, kinda happy w/ it, but still like "Love: CAPTURE" better :3
This time my write up was done in literally 5 minutes
here it is:

Art ISU #4
- Title -
Theme: Love
My final ISU of the year is inspired by the Chinese song: "爱如空气", which literally translates into "Love Like the Air". I think it is enough to explain my reason for this painting with the lyrics of the song, and so, I did my best to translate the main sections:
Love is like flowers;
Sometimes they bloom, others times they wither.
Love remains in autumn,
All alone, I sigh.
The days in September are filled with rain, soaking my thoughts.
Flowers petals after the rain,
Spills across the ground.
Make them into bookmarks, and hide them within my diary.
Times fades all memories,
The bright colours dim, leaving us with a faded yellow.
The love between us is light like the air,
And even so, I can't take it.
The memories in my heart will never fade.
If you don't treasure the past,
They will eventually disappear.
The love between us is heavy like the air,
The more I want to forget,
The more I remember.
The memories suffocate me,
I can hardly breathe.
I can only embrace the air, and pretend it's you.
Happiness is hidden on the other side of a piece of glass.
It may seem very beautiful,
Yet it's always out of reach.
Maybe... in our short encounter, all that you've left for me,
Is a scar in my life.
If anyone is interested in listening to this piece, I do have with me today in my iPod.

I love this picture!
You shouldn't worry about the skin tone because it keeps the piece cohesive and makes the foreground belong to the background. I think your background is really well done here. It's simple, but not boring.
One thing you should work on though, is tightening up your edges. The ink lines are a bit too thick and your branches could be better and more sharply defined. But other than that, a great piece!
