Painter X. Commission.

Concept: Sauron and Maglor. Based on a Lord of the Rings fanfic. As Sauron's prisoner, Maglor plays the harp until his fingers bleed.

This painting took a very long time. Partly from other work obligations getting in the way, and partly from my often obsessive/compulsive nature when it comes to my art. Not that I don't put care into my other artwork, but this one for some reason was 'special' and there was always something more that needed to be done to it, for it to be 'right'.

I still can find things to touch-up or tweak, but the poor girl would never get her commission at that rate and I can always find something in my work that needs "just a touch more"

When I first saw this piece I did really like it, but what made me decide to feature it was when I saw this. This shows how much work, effort, and time was put into this piece to make even the smallest things stand out! Unfortunately when the piece was resized to be Sheezy-friendly, it lost some of its shine, but while looking at the detail shots you can appreciate it more than you would have without seeing those close ups.

The attention to detail in this piece is astounding! I only hope that I will be able to accomplish something like this in the future...seriously. I think it was Maglor's eyes that drew me in the most. Well done!!

Sauron is much too unfrightening for me and I do not believe he would have held Maglor in that nothing of clothes^^
But it is a really good picture and I love the idea with the bleeding fingers. Maglor is that beautiful as Tolkien thought him, I love the hair and the eyes! Great job :)
