The Fate of Hate: A New Age
The chrimson sunset casted a blood red glow across the lands as the day ended as any other. The family of Outlanders were collected within their home Pride Rock, As the day came to a close.
This evening there was a new subject however that quickly spread through the lands faster then the quickest of cheeatas,
The mighty creature Akus, Had finally been defeated.
One of the things that shook the lands the most was the fact of WHO defeated the great killer of the living...
An outcast family of stringy lions known only as,
The Outlanders.
Since the past six months they have inhabited the Pridelands and become a larger family as time progressed.
Now they live there in peace, Watching as the sun and moon trade places in the great circle of life.
But this peace is soon to be broken, As only a few miles away deep in the plains a massive lioness known to be Akus's mate has risen from the ruins of her mate's death. Now with revenge on her mind, Mokara will slaughater them all, One by one until they are all dead.

Suka and Kamira were watching as their young son Takuda took his first steps across their homeland. Not too far away Nuka and Singa were admiring their son Duka as he sat on his haunches looking around curiously. And Taka and Vitani were watching as Vitara slept peacefully. Everything was as peaceful as could be in the Pridelands. The king and queen looked over it all and smiled content at how things were in their homelands. Only yesterday they were in a number of near death situations... How ironicly calm things were that evening...
Scar looked to his mate and smiled as a thought went through his mind. My love, Have you ever wondered how such a paradise can come from lives such as ours? Zira simply smiled and nodded her head slowly. Indeed dear, We have fought for years to have a life like this, Our family's blood has been lost so we can attain a life as such. The two kissed each other as a skinny lion came up to the peak of pride Rock. Taka skidded and slid up to the summit as he seemed out of breath. Whatever is wrong? asked Scar. Scar, I have just been informed by a outsider that a lone lioness fitting the description of Mokara was seen just outside the Prideland border ! Scar raised an eyebrow as he spoke. An outsider told you this? Taka stuttered. Y..Yes, Sir. How can you be sure it is true? questioned Zira. Taka lowered his ears slightly. There is no solid proof my queen...But what if it is true? asked Taka. Scar rolled his eyes as he opened his mouth to speak, But Zira interupted him. Scar, it is very possible she DID survive. Scar looked to his mate dumbfounded and then back to Taka. Very well, Thank you Taka. Your welcome my king. Taka then walked back off. Scar then turned back to his mate. Must you be so negetive? he sighed. Im sorry dear, But its very possible she could have survived that ravine. Scar shrugged his shoulders and walked into the den to think about the possibility of this danger.
Meanwhile,
In the distant Plainlands a lioness with a hideous complection stared into the sky with her single eye as she closed her eye and viciously tore at the ground with her claws. My dear Akus... How I miss your company already...It has only been a day since I last saw you, And yet it feels like a year since we last kissed...I will avenge your death my love, I shall tear them apart for this hideous crime on such a creature as yourself. They shall pay dearly, Those two cant be there to protect their children forever... I'll make damn sure of that... I must heal however, But soon I shall avenge you, And I shall feast upon her heart when I do... I pray you are there beside me as I tear those two apart...

Suka looked to the setting sun as his Son Takuda chased a butterfly across the plains. he remember back to the times when he was that age and had no butterflies to chase, and not much else to speak of in that nature...
Vitani awoke Suka from his past as she looked to him with a serious look. Suka, have you heard our parents talking about Mokara? Suka loooked to her with a sly grin. No my dear sister, I dont monitor every second of their lives. Vitani rolled her eyes. I'm serious dammit, They've been talking about how she most certianly survived that flood.
So? shrugged Suka. So? You idiot ! You know damn well good enough she'll want revenge ! snarled Vitani. Vitani looked away from her brother suddenly. I'm sorry Suka, I'm just worried she might come back, Might come back and kill one of us...If not more. Suka nodded his head understandingly. I know Tani... We're ALL worried what she might try to do to our family... But worrying yourself to death ISN'T going to prevent it... All it will do is cause you hurt... You have to stop worrying and start looking toward your future my sister...
Vitani nodded and hugged her brother, Then frowned...

We're gettin to old to be huggin each other...she sighed.
Suka lifted his sister's head with his paw and spoke to her tearstained face.
We're NEVER to old to love each other Vitani, Dont you EVER think we're to old to express our love to each other... We all STILL hug our father, We all STILL kiss our mother on the cheek as she sleeps pecefully...
Vitani smiled, And just before she walked off...Kissed her brother on the cheek.
Suka smiled as he watched her walk off... This Mokara thing is really testing our fears of losing one another agian. We have to do something about it, Before we do lose a family member... One way or another.
Takuda looked up to his father with a concerned look. Daddy, What's wrong? Takuda saw his father's tears...
Nothing is wrong my son, The family just loves each other so much it makes us cry... You saw Aunt Vitani, She too was crying... smiled Suka.
But why daddy, Why are you both crying? asked Takuda as he cuddled up to his father's brown mane.
In time my son, In time you shall learn when your mother and I grow old, And you have your own children.
Father, Please dont talk about getting old...It worry's me... I dont ever want to lose you. spoke Takuda as he began to cry. I'm sorry my son, Please dont cry... But you know we will always live in your heart forever. spoke Suka as he nuzzled his son affectionetly.
Meanwhile, Out in the Borderlands Mokara set glaring at Pride Rock, Hideous plans and thoughts of slaying every single creature there. She could see a pair of lions heading her way as she came back to reality. She slid into the nearby brush as the two lions stopped.
What was that? asked Vitani as she looked to the barely swaying grasses a few paces away on a nearby hillside.
Taka looked to the motionless foilage. I dont see anything. he chuckled. Vitani pressed her paw to his mouth when the grass started to part nearby. Taka immedeatly got serious... Get back home now Vitani. whispered Taka as he watched the the once more, Still grasses. What about you? she spoke. Just get home...now ! he added with a slight hiss as his attention shot to her. Just be careful. she spoke. Vitani was silent for a moment before heading back toward Pride Rock.

Taka returned his gaze to the parting grass merely 3 lengths away, An extreamly easy pounce range. Every silent step Taka took backward, The grasses mirrored him. When he advanced, The grasses advanced more. Taka wasnt sure what to do, He wanted to scream for help, Run back to the safety of Pride Rock with his dear Vitani and just go to sleep peacefully, But none of that was an option as of now, Only he was in real danger...
Vitani made the last few steps into Pride Rock. Someone ! Help ! she screamed. Scar and Zira shot out of the royal den while Suka and Nuka bounded around the corner. What is it Vitani? asked Scar. Taka's out in the savanna, There's something after him, I'm not sure what it was, But there was SOMETHING stalking us. she cried. Suka and Nuka took off in the direction Vitani had indicated while Vitani tried to calm down. Zira kept a watchful eye on the dark surronding landscape for anything moving, Be it Friend or Foe...
Taka was still being silently stalked by the hidden form in the grasses. A few times he swore he saw patches of dark fur in the moonlight that the grass had failed to shroud... Nothing he said or did caused it to change its pattern or do anything but close the distance between them. Taka was knew the worst had come upon him, This was no trick... He was being stalked, Hunted... Taka was ready to turn tail and run, Run as fast as he possibly could, Hopefully outrunning this creature. But how well it had kept it's identity, and been so very silent... This was no rouge or hunter of normal kind however, This had to be a highly skilled killer of the living, If so... He would never make it home before... Taka's thoughts were intterupted by the distant sound of his name. Taka ! Taka? Where are you?
He felt so naked and helpless, As he feared a single sound from him would be his very last. He could only pray they found him, In time...
Suka and Nuka combed the savanna nearby, Looking for any sign of Taka. Suka soon found a pair of streached out tracks, Vitani's pawprints from where she ran from where this creature had been stalking them at. Suka and Nuka quickly followed them, They knew they would lead them to where Taka was. Or had been.
Meanwhile Taka could now see it, The dark form looking over him, It had left the shroud of the grasses and reveiled itself...herself to him. A lone tear ran down Taka's face as he merely set, Frozen in absoulte fear as Mokara set looming over him with an absoutely sinister grin on her torn face.
Good evening, Taka as they call you... she hissed with a grin growing across her mangled face.
Taka swallowed the rock in his stomach and stood before her.
Oh, Such bravery to stand before me so regaly before you die... You "Outlanders" may be brave... Hopelessly doomed all of you... But you do have this defiance to death I do find quite, Pleasing. she spoke as she smiled hideously. She shot him a cold stare before her "smile" vanished in an instant...
The surronding grasses soon gleamed with a red mist as Mokara darkened the light in Taka's eyes...Forever.
Nearby Suka and Nuka shot forward when they heard a distant scream tear through the otherwise peaceful night air. The echos of Taka's hideously painful death rebounded off every tree, Every tall Acida tree, down to the minute millions of blades of grass shook before all was agian silent...
Suka and Nuka ran as fast as possible before coming to a clearing where they saw a distant form disappearing over the horizon. After only a few lengths they found something that both of them could barely even stand to look at...

They were sure it was Taka, But the life had been ripped from him, as the surrounding area was but a river of chrimson. Suka swallowed hard as Nuka helped hoist what was left of Taka's corpse onto both their backs as they headed back home, To deliver the news, And the body...
Meanwhile a single orb shone in the moonlight, Visible to those only with perfect vision. It didnt blink once as it watched the lions carry Taka away. Then a sinister laugh echoed from the location of the eye.

One down...

Vitani was just beginning to fear the worst fate for her brothers when they came over the horizon, With something on their backs. Not until they were within a few yards did everyone figure out the limp object was NOT supper...
Vitani and family ran to them as they laid Taka's corpse on the ground.
We found him this way in a pool of his own blood... Spoke Suka.
Something tore the hell out of him. observed Scar.
Well, I think we all know who did this. spoke Zira quietly as she looked to the poor soul before them.
Ariz looked to the corpse and smelled it.
Mokara, Deception, Fear, Agression... she spoke
Even though Taka was a mess, Vitani hugged what was left of him and cried.
This was an attack i'm quite sure. Spoke Kamira observing Taka's claws... Not extended in battle.
So, What do we do? asked Suka looking to his family.
Scar spoke up first.
The first thing on my mind and probably all our minds is simple revenge. he spoke
Surely we are not to risk more lives hunting her down. spoke Singa.
No, Not a chance my dear. smiled Zira.
No, What we need to do is get her to come to us, Alone she may be able to kill any of us... But as a family, I think her life will be the only thing in danger. smiled Zira as she looked to Scar, Who nodded his head in agreement.
Okay then, How? asked Nuka.
A trap we need, Lure the beast to an offering, Only to snare her essence in the void of our hurt...droned Ariz.
Keep your potions and wizzardry to yourself for now Ariz, We're going to try something more simple first. spoke Scar.
Mind filling us in? spoke Nuka as Singa and Kamira cradled their cubs.
Well, It's as Zira said, We need to get her to come to us... Set a trap of somekind. spoke Kamira.

No, A trap wolnt work, Not after how we disposed of Moki. spoke Scar.
Mokara wolnt fall for that trick, Unlike Moki, She is much more aware of her surrondings... She's not stupid. he finished.

So then... What do we do? asked Zira.

Meanwhile,

Mokara set in the moonlight cleaning the chrimson from her paws. Her daggerlike claws filcked out as she observed them, Still sticky with the lifeblood that once flowed through Taka's veins. She smiled an ever so wicked grin as she licked them clean.

Moki, I have slain one of their blood. With my own claws I drew blood from one they cared for. Can you feel it Moki? I do beleave they are beginning to suffer. They will surely try and end my life like they did your's so soon my love. But I am prepared for that... However.

I have been watching them from afar for quite sometime my dear, In order for them to survive they must eat, And to eat... They MUST hunt... This queen of their's "Zira" often leads the main hunting group, Always the first to strike usually.

She usually has only a few large lioness with her at a time, No doubt that will have changed due to my actions.
They will expect me to attack her next, The seemingly most vunerable. But I plan to either sink my claws into that pretty little daughater of their's, or that disgusting whelp of a son next. Mokara then held her claws up to the moon as she looked throught them with a grin.
Tomorrow night, I go hunting once more...

Suka and Nuka looked on out into the savanna as their peaceful lands, Didn't seem quite as pretty and peaceful as it had last night. Though none of the scenery had changed, Every blade of grass that moved ever so slightly sent them on high alert.

The very lands themselves had seemed to die off ever since Taka's passing.

The cicada's didnt chirp.
The herds of Kidu had disappeared from the scenery.
The wind itself was lifeless,
Not even a slight breeze blew past them.

It was a very quiet land tonight.
It was as if every creature, big and small, knew there was something hostle in the lands.

Nuka looked out across the grasses.
I wanna kill her. he spoke quietly.
What? questioned Suka as he looked to his brother as if he'd lost his mind.
You heard every word I said Suka. he spoke. Not even taking his attention off the land before them.
You cant be serious Nuka, You KNOW damn good and well going out there would be the death of us both.
Nuka then looked to Suka.

I never said you had to go Suka, I can handle myself. he spoke, Looking to Suka emotionlessly.
Nuka, Anywhere you go, I go as well. We are blood my brother, I would never expect you to have to fight on your own. We were born together, We live together, and we will DIE together. Spoke Suka.
Besides, You cant possibly even consider this Nuka, Remember Nuka, You have a wife and son that need your protection. As family Nuka we do depend on each other quite often. But we cant be the crazy kids we were anymore Nuka, We have a responsibility to protect those we swore to protect. spoke Suka.

The rare breeze sent Nuka and Suka's manes into a frenzy.
I know that my brother, And you are right, My life is no longer boundryless. But you have to understand and feel what I do brother.

That horrid creature has hurt us ALL Nuka, We ALL know how you feel. But think about Vitani and Vitara, With her mate dead how do you think our sister is taking it?

I doubt the best. he sighed.

No, But you dont see her bounding off into the savanna to her own untimely death do you? Asked Suka.

No. spoke Nuka quietly.

Then stop this nonsense of going off by yourself brother, For you worry me terribly when you speak of such things. sighed Suka.

Nuka's head merely hung low as he made his way into the dens.
Suka was left on the promotory by himself as the stars shone high above him.

What has happened to us? This was supposed to be a happy place...sighed Suka as he returned to his den for the evening.

The next morning,

Scar and Zira were up very early that morning. Suka awoke to find them setting together atop the peak, Speaking in low whispers. Suka shrugged his shoulders and went to get a drink from the waterhole.

Suka was enjoying the cool morning water's touch as the sun rose above the horizon.

Suka was taken from this moment of tranquility however as a sound nearby echoed through his ears.

Suka scanned the brush for any signs of life as he slolwy retreated back to Pride Rock nearby.

As Suka was walking backwards, keeping his eyes ahead of him. His rear made contact with SOMETHING behind him...

A lone tear slid down his cheek as he imagined what would surely come next...

He just waited for the death blow that would end his life forever...

Suka was too scared to turn around,
Not until a fimilar voice brought waves of relief across his mind.

Suka, Your father and I would like to have a word with you. spoke Zira as she eyed him oddly.

Sorry, I thought you were...someone else... he grinned.

Zira nodded, Doing a double take of the horizon as she turned back to the peak.

Suka and Zira met with Scar atop the peak, High above all else, The land seemed to go on infinitly.

You wanted a word with me? asked Suka looking to Scar when he turned as Zira set by his side.

Suka, You, As all of us know, We have a situation in our lands. While Zira and I didnt ever expect to live forever, We find it is most important to tell you all that your survival is more important then ours. You are the ones to carry on the family legacy as you feel fit to. spoke Scar

We have the greatest trust you will wield such power with Responsibility, Courage, and above all, To never forget what your pourpous in life truly is. Finished Zira.

At that moment Suka's mind was flooded with images and memorys from long ago.

He remembered back when he was just a young cub, Curled up next to his mother. Unaware of his inability to protect himself, As no child would ever feel as long as someone or something was at least there to protect them and keep them from the horrors of life itself.
Suka remembered how happy, comfortable, and loved he felt...

Though Suka's ears did not hear it, Ariz came from hiding quite worried as she looked to Suka, His eyes closed and teeth clenched.

His aura is quickly fading ! My king, You MUST detain him now before he falls into absolute oblivion !

What's wrong? asked Zira as Scar looked to her with a raised brow.

His mind is recalling past memorys of his youth, Mainly bonds toward Zira.

His heart bleeds from a cut, Years old, A wound of fear, A fear that of losing you both some day...

And now, All he had taken such pride in, Those he felt he owed most.

Those who had protected him when he was weak...

Had just told him their time was nearing... spoke Ariz

Suka awoke to reality once more as his face was matted with tears. He turned tail and ran, Ran as fast as his four legs could carry him, Across their homelands and into a world now filled with danger.

Suka took no knotice as he heard worried crys from behind him as he ran into the savanna. Suka just kept running, Hoping either to outrun time itself, Or run, Run until his very heart burst from exaustion,
As his mind had just done so a few seconds ago...

Suka figured SOMEONE was probably following him, But his usual self would have stopped running by now, His hurt and pain inside him would have burnt itself out by now, But the pain only intensified as he ran faster still into the rising sunlight.

He heard pleas from behind.

He was sure it was Nuka, But he didnt have the abilty to stop... His mind kept pushing him on.
The harder he fought to stop, The fericer the memorys became, And the more he cried.

Suka felt as if he had lost his mind, He was beyond just watching this happen...
His thoughts then shifted...

I'll be DAMNED if i'm just gonna let her take them down like this ! screamed Suka as he turned East and tore through the savanna grass as he thundrered.

MOKARA ! COME OUT AND FIGHT ME YOU WORTHLESS WASTE OF FUR !

Suka tore on with only one intention in his mind currently.

Not revenge, Not quite striking the first blow even.

Just protecting what he cared for, Plainly pure and simple murder.

His mind wore on as he thought.

As long as there is air in my lungs and Blood in my veins I will NOT stop fighting, No level of pain nor abuse will derail my intentions... I WILL watch her heart beat no more in my very paw ! screamed Suka as he continued his tottaly insaine "quest"

Suka was then overwhelmed by a searing flash of unimaginable pain as the world faded away into darkness...

All Suka could do was think...

Think of what had just happened, Had his life just ended?

Did he just now fail his place as future king,
As a brother,
and As a father?

Suka could only wonder...

No, You have not failed my son... spoke a warm and familar voice,
It was Ariz.

Ariz, What has happened to me? Why has all faded before my eyes, Yet I still feel alive as if I am concious.

You are concious Suka, The state of your mind concerns me however...

I had but only one option left when you began to outrun me Suka...

I had to stop you before you wasted so much that is left of your time here. she finished.

So, I am alive then? he asked.

Ariz's voice was calm as it replied.

As of right now I am carrying you back home where you can rest... Suka, Why did you run? she asked.

I...I dont know. he spoke.

Well, It had to be a very good reason to risk your life, your young son's life, and your entire family's lives to do such a thing...

I was there when your parents spoke with you Suka, I saw everything that you saw in your very mind...

When they spoke of their children's importance, of their impending time. Your aura took a very deadly drop Suka.

I fear you need more then kind and gentle words...

I want to help you Suka...

While you may not beleave me Suka, I understand fully why your heart and soul pains you as it does.

You do not fear responsibility as much as losing the "pshycological link" between you and your family.

I sense you realise just how much your life's essence depends on their survival Suka.

But you have to understand me fully Suka, This is not an impending curse with your parent's time coming someday...

You have a powerful aura around you beacuse you have imbraced love to it's fullest extent possible.

You not only understand what true and undenyable love is, But you cherish it more then normaly possible, Giving you the ability to "regenerate" your inner spirit with just contact with that of those you share this link with, Your family Suka.

Though you do fear when Scar and Zira pass on...
I'm here to tell you that Nuka and Vitani will be with you till your dying days, Do not fear the future child...

Only fear that of what you are trying to do...

Suka's mind was then filled with wonderful thoughts of his dear Kamira and young son Takuda...

Suka awoke early in the afternoon to see Ariz watching him from the entrance.

Good afternoon Suka, I trust your sleep was peaceful? she smiled.

Suka nodded, Getting up off the floor and approaching her.

She merely smiled as he hugged her.

Thank you. he whispered.

Thank me not Suka, For the spirits watch over you eternaly with only smiles and complements. she spoke.

Suka walked out of the den and right into Nuka, who was just coming to see him.

Well well well, Look what crazy mr. "I worry about you" did this morning. he grinned.

So, You know? sighed Suka.

Suka... The whole pride knows... You... DID do..."that" after all... spoke Nuka lowly.

Did what? asked Suka.

Nothing... Just ran off into the savanna yelling odd words... Words we never speak at least... Ta tell ya the truth... Ya sounded alot like Ariz. he snickred.

I DID talk with her, After she did somekind of spell that finnaly stopped me, I was unconcious, But could evedently speak with her through her mind.

We had a good talk. he smiled.

About? asked Nuka.

Oh... Just my life. smiled Suka as he walked to the top of the peak to look across their homelands.

Suka looked across the lands with a smile as the sun bathed him with warmth as the wind sent life through his brown mane. Suka looked to Kamira and Takuda nearby in the grasses below.

Suka smiled as a wave of warmth flowed over him as he thought of his wonderful mate and son.

Suka walked down to where they laid as Kamira's eyes shot to him as she heard his presence.

Suka expected her to either Bite his head off, or just start to cry.
However, Kamira looked to him with an expression Suka had a hard time reading.

It was a mixture between intense confusion and intense compassion...

Kamira,
How is my little family doing today? he spoke.

Kamira looked to him lovingly.
Alot better knowing your here and ok my love.

Suka cuddled up to Kamira as Takuda pawed at his father's whiskers playfully.

Suka smiled at his son as he watched Takuda set motionless for a second, then sneezed loudly.

The two lovers smiled as they nuzzled each other.

High above the three,
Scar and Zira set, Talking in whispers with Ariz...

Ariz, What can you mean by his aura being unstable? asked Scar not fully understanding.

Suka is diffrent for many other lions, I feel he and his siblings share an un-natural drive to stay WITH you instead of the normaly lion wanting to carry on it's life in another land and create a new circle.

I feel Suka is perfectly content continuing the curcle you and Zira have created.

It devestates him when you talk of dying and them having to take over rule of the lands.

I don't fully understand Ariz, Suka is a mature lion with mate and child, Would it not be easier for him to start his own pride with the family he has assembled himself? asked Zira.

No, I feel Suka see's himself unable and unwilling to create a new circle for himself, As do Vitani and Nuka. Ever knotice how NONE of them has even mentioned leaving the Pridelands? spoke Ariz.

Yes, But are you beleaving that they think they can keep us alive forever? aske Scar with a frown.

No, I have felt Suka's feelings, He know's the inevetable will come someday, It is his greatest pain, That lies in his greatest strength. answered Ariz.

You and Zira are Suka's mental foundation as to say, He has put this upon himself, And I beleave he fully realises this, But it has given him a personality and devotion unimaginable by any normal terms. spoke Ariz.

I, as any caring child would, Much to the dismay of the parent... Put my very life on the line to insure their safety. she finished.
Scar and Zira nodded, Understanding.
Well, Suka has a diffrent drive, It's not that he is insaine with devotion, Nor is his drive to protect you out of control... Suka is just "beyond" protecting his family with his body.

When Suka ran off this morning, As I chased after him, Having to give it my all JUST to keep up with him. An aura was pulsing off of him in massive radience, I have never seen such an aura in my time, But was as iff he had passed the boundry of pshycal action. I felt as if there was devine intervention... finished Ariz.
You mean a spirit was entering his body? asked Zira.
No, Just the opposite I beleave, Unfortunately, I feel as if Suka felt such a great strain on his soul, His body could not possibly meet it's commands as needed, and therfore his soul overpowered his body, Pushing him beyond normal limits by lion far and wide. spoke Ariz.
That sounds dangerous if what you're speaking is true. said Scar, Sounding very convinced.
I cannot answer that, As I myself am unsure hust WHAT happend today, But I doubt it is dangerous to him, While this great energy drives him as it does, I highly doubt it would cause him any pshycal damage, Other then being very, very exausted afterwards... spoke Ariz as she looked to Suka below, Still loving on Kamira.

Later on that day Vitani up came to Nuka and Suka as they talked amongst themselves over weather they should go hunt for a snack, Or go teach their sons how to pounce.
Guys, They're still drinking milk, Cant it wait till they get to eating meat? she laughed.
I suppose, I mean, What's the point of trying to teach something to hunt when it doesnt even know a Kidu from a Cheeata, Let alone what meat even tastes like. grinned Suka.

Anyways, Our hunting groups have been a bit... "on edge" as of late with her presence being everywhere. Now, We all know Mokara wants us dead as her mate, However, She know's she cant attack us together, So the only option left for her is to single us out, one by one.
Mother asked me to plead you both to stay together at all times, It's nothing much of a worry to all of us as I havent seen you two apart for more then ten seconds since I was born. She just wanted to remind you of the situation. finshed Vitani.

Yeah, Even I get nervous around them on one of either's "bad days". laughed Scar as he walked in on the conversation.

Yes, Both of thm are more then strong enough pshycally and both care dearly for her, I would just feel mre at ease if my son's were there by her side, Just in case.

But what if she attacks here at Pride Rock while the hunting partys are all out? You'll be left with little help. spoke Suka.
I do not fear her attacking here Suka, She has shown she would rather single us out, Far in the savanna where no one can help... As opposed to if I was here, The hunting partys could arrive, If not early, Putting her in great danger and making such an attack seem all but suicidal in short. finished Scar.

Suka and Nuka took their positions aside Shani and Malika as the group walked out into the savanna.
So, This is your first time hunting eh? asked Shani as she looked to Nuka.
Yeah, Not to sure what is expected of me, Iv'e watched the hunt before, But I never thought i'd actually be a PART of the hunting group myself, Guess there's a first time for everything. he laughed.
Shani and Zira chuckled as the group moved out to the East.

Scar watched as most of his family walked out until they had disappeared over the distant hillside.
He then looked back to find Vitani setting behind him.
Something wrong hun? asked Scar as he observed the concerned look on his daughater's face.
Just worried, I'm sure ya know why. she sighed as she walked off silently.
Scar watched her disappear,
Yes, I understand completly... he spoke as he awaited their arrival in the dens.
Meanwhile,
Vitani and her hunting group took off to the West.
Where Mokara was not known to be, Still, Vitani's hunting group had been raised from 3 lioness to 5, Nearly doubleing it's size, With the addition to two of the prides strongest and most skilled huntress.

Out in the North,
A dark lioness set upon a large outcroping of the land, Survailing the landscape from a distance.
She grinned as she looked to the sun, Now beginning it's decent toward the earth. Her maw furled, exposing her massive canines as she chuckled.
It's time to hunt once more. she hissed as she headed off toward Pride Rock in a westward direction...
Kamira set with Takuda nearby in the tall grasses that grew nearby Pride Rock. Watching the grasshoppers bound from stem to stem. Attempting a punce now and then, But his legs were far to young to even carry him efficently, let alone pounce.
Singa set a few lengths away giving Duka a bath when Scar approached the two lioness and their cubs.
Lovely day isin't it? spoke Scar looking to the cloudy skies.
A day easily enjoyable if we wern't all living in fear right now. smiled Kamira
Singa looked up from bathing Duka, Much to the cub's approval.
Scar, What are we to do, I mean, She's out there somewhere, All I wonder is how long must we live in fear my king? asked Singa.
Scar sighed.
I honestly wish I could answer your question Singa, But neither Zira nor I am sure what to do right now.
I have suggested sending out a group composed of our strongest and just eliminating Mokara, But this puts who is left behind in grave danger, As well as the lions being sent out.
Zira has suggested we set up a system of sentrys and defensive lookouts througout the Pridelands, But at this time we simply dont have enough animals for that plan to ever work well enough to compensate for the danger we would be putting them all in. sighed Scar.
So, Until we can think of just what we CAN do, We just have to watch out backs as we get through this day by day. finished Scar as he ascended the peak of Pride Rock to await the hunting party's arrival.

So far Zira's hunting group in the East had brought down nothing,
But there was a good catch in the West with Vitani's hunting group, They had sucessfully downed a large wildabeast, A grand trophy for any hunting group indeed.
As the group had to work together to take the animal down, They would have to work as a team to bring it back to Pride Rock quickly, As such a feast would quickly draw hungry predators from miles if they didnt move it quickly...
The group was taking turns, Three watching for any hostile's on the horizon, and two working together to drag the animal, They switched positions ever few hundred yards.
They were making good progress and would be back at Pride Rock soon, As it could clearly be seen on the horizon. Vitani couldnt wait to show off this feast, How proud her family would be of them as she kept an eye on the horizon.
Sarhani stopped completly however, As if she had hit a brick wall.
The group halted as Sarhani stood still as stone, Looking to a patch of grass nearby.
Vitani looked to Sarhani with a worried expression.
Sarhani's gaze didnt shift an inch, But she could sense the hunting party's attention on her...
Nearby, There's a presence. she whispered.
Everyone made not a sound as Sarhani's gaze seemd to perice the landscape, As if looking through it completly.
Go, Slowly... I'll keep watch. she spoke as her gaze remained fixed to the East.
We must make haste... spoke Darika as she tugged harder on the Wildabeast carcass.

Dosent matter how fast we go, We're the one's being hunted... spoke Vitani as she shifted to dragging the Wildabeast.
Sarhina's gaze into the brush not far off ceased to break for even a second, Never blinking, Just keeping a vigilant glare on the unseen follower, No more then 10 lengths away.

Then,
The attack came from nowhere, To Vitani, it was just an instaneous frenzy of claws, roars, shreiks, and worst of all...

Vitani felt a powerful force slam her to the ground as Darika knocked Vitani out of the way as Mokara had lept at her.
Darika tumbled a few yards with Mokara already at the offense, Slashing and ripping away at the brave, but unfortunate lioness, Dooming her with a swift slash of claws to the throat.
Vitani had just begun to run when once agian she was attacked as she saw two fellow liones running toward her as they both slammed into Mokara, Pinning her down and burying their fang's deep into her flesh as they tore away at the wretched creature.
Yet Mokara somehow manged to summon the strength to right herself, Tossing the two large lioness off her like nothing.
Mokara stood, Covered in blood, Though most of it was not her's... Glaring at Vitani with a sinister grin as she laughed with a horse and icy chuckle.

If it isint the hideous princess of the Pridelands, Tell me my dear, How has life been without your preacious mate?
Vitani lunged at Mokara as the two fellow lioness left came to her aid. Pinning the horrid creature down once more.
Mokara grinned and was about to toss the lioness aside when a searing pain soared through her body, Originating from her chest.
Mokara glanced to see Vitani's front claws buryed deep into her chest, Right where the wicked lioness's heart resided. If she had one that is..
Mokara felt agnoizing pain as every beat of her present heart, Sent waves of intense duress through her very being.
As she looked to Vitani, Expecting to see a smile spread across her face, She was met by Vitani's face indeed, But it bared a look of pity, Almost sorrow as Mokara manged to throw the two lioness aside once more.
Now injured and possibly Mortaly at that, Mokara made one quick and violent move as she summoned every ounce of strength left in her and swiped her claws as deep and as hard as she could across Vitani's exposed chest...
Mokara then turned and ran off, Managing a devilish cackle as she vanished into the sunset.
Vitani meanwhile, Was hacking and coughing, Slowly drownign in her own life blood.
A badly wounded Darika, yet hardly scratched Sarhani ran to her side.
Bless Ahudi, Look what the evil beast did to you Vitani ! shreiked Darika as she looked to the grizzly wound.

Vitani went silent, Nearing death's door as her strength began to fade.
Ariz came bounding from Pride Rock's direction, Seeming aware that something very bad had happened in this direction.
When she came to Vitani's hunting group, 2 lioness set nearby, Motionless, and then she saw Vitani, Covered in blood, and the jagged wound across her chest...
Ariz ran to her and took a mixture of odd substances and mixed them, and then applied them to the wound.
It's okay Tani, Ariz's got ya, You'll be okay. she smiled.
Yet Vitani swore she could sense something behind Ariz's smile...
Is she REALLY going to be okay, I mean, if not I want to say my goodbyes before it's too late... added Darika.
Ariz only smiled.
She'll be fine after...
But Ariz's eyes had caught a tear rolling down Sarhani's face.
Dont fret dear, She's going to be fine, I just wish I could have gotten here quicker, Might be able to help all these brave lioness that gave their lives to defend her and themselves.
Sarhani just looked to Ariz and shook her head.

No, She's not fine... She's... Dead. she finished looking to the motionless form of Vitani, Laying flat on the ground.
Ariz's eyes shot to Vitani, Laying there.
Child, I gave her medecine to cause her to fall asleep, To slow the blood loss mainly. As you are uninjured Sarhani, Would you please help by carrying Vitani back to Pride Rock, I'm going to take care of our fallen hunters. she finished.
Sarhani nodded and Darika helped Ariz carefully place Vitani on Sarhina's back as the three headed toward Pride Rock.
Darika looked to her wounded friend and spoke.
Sarhina, She's till bleeding an aweful lot, She we not quicken our pace, Just...In case. she added slowly.
I'd rather not. added Sarhina.
If I walk much faster I could only injure her further yet. she finished.
Darika looekd back to see Ariz piling two lioness on her back and following them at a distance.

Meanwhile, Zira and her hunting goup, Along with Suka and Nuka had returned to Pride Rock with two decent antelope.
Hunting not too good this evening my love? asked Scar as he approached them.
No, Unfortunately not. sighed Zira.
It would seem most of the animals have disappeared, As if something has caused them to go into hiding. spoke Shani.
Something like Mokara perhaps? asked Scar.
Most of the group looked Scar at that point.
We would rather not think that, Even if it IS a posibility Scar. hissed Malika.

So, Has Vitani's hunting group returned yet? asked Suka. Lookign around for his sister.
Scar looked to the darkening Savanna.
I'm afraid none of her group has returned yet. he whispered, Head hung low.
Zira's agze seemd to perice the darkness of the savanna as she spoke.
It's getting far to dark... Something... Has gone wrong for her to be out this late in a time like this. she intoned.

Shani's ears then pricked up as everyone looked out ot the savanna when there came a voice...

Vitani is hurt badly !

The remining pride took off like a gunshot to the location of the voice as before long they ran across a badly wounded Darika and Sarhani carrying a bloody form on her back not to far out in the savanna.
Where is she? yelled Zira as her eyes searched the area, Not thinking the remins on Sarhani's back was her daughater.
Sarhani looked to Zira's roving eyes as she turned to the side and allowed Vitani's form to be shown by the glow of the moonlight.
Zira didnt make a sound as her face twisted with shock and sadness.
She's not dead. spoke Ariz as she approached the group.
Sadly, I cant say the same for these two souls. she spoke as two corpses hung over her back.
Lay them on the ground here, We'll bury them tomorrow. spoke Scar. as he approached Vitani's form.
Is...Is there anything you can do for her Ariz? he asked slowly.

Ariz lowered her head.
I can help her, But I cannot give her a 100% chance of surviving the night unless she heals. she spoke slolwy.
You said she was going to be FINE ! shreiked Darika as she tackled Ariz to the ground.
Wound me if you must, But I had to keep everyone's hope up, Otherwise she might not have made it this far. she spoke.
Shani pried her friend off of Ariz as Sarhani carried Vitani to her den inside Pride Rock.

Meanwhile,
Out in the dark savanna, Mokara set near the glistening river, Looking to her claws with a look of absolute Apathy.
LOOK MY LOVE !! The blood of the daughater is on my claws !
Mokara slowly inserted her claws into her muzzle, Savoring the taste of the blood on her claws. Loving reliving EVERY second of her attack.
Moki, I even took down two of their followers, And wounded another.
Are you proud? Please tell me you are proud of my acomplishments ! she smiled as she looked up into the sky.

After a few moments of silence, Mokara set back down, Admiring her claws as they now had another's life tied to them, Or so she thought...
She clutched her cheast as she stil bled heavly from the deep wound Vitani had managed to inflict as four razor sharp claws nearly punctured her very core, her black, But still beating heart...

Back at Pride Rock, Vitani's family had gathered by her side...
Zira was barely able to talk, Washed by greif she was unapproachable. Suka and Nuka looked on as they watched the wound, Still seeping a slow river of chrimson as Ariz did her best to bandage it up with reeds, grasses, and herbs.
Scar had his head near her head, listening to her slow and rythmic breaths.
They were all silent, Aside from a sniffle here or a snort there.
At one point Zira ran out of the den, Wailing as she did so...

Ariz eventually looked up from her handywork.
It's the best I can do for her right now, Now it's all up to her mind, body, and soul.
She poesses a very Storong mind, A heart that ceases to give up, and the soul of the untamed winds, She will mkae it, This I am most sure of. she spoke, Smiling as she rubbed her paw across Vitani's forehead.
Ahudi look over her through the night. she added as she left the den.
Scar left to console his mate as Suka and Nuka stayed, The two ended up sleeping there beside her, Not allowing themselves to leave her side.
They were bot torn apart at the fact that they BOTH worried for their sister as they both had a bad feeling Mokara might attack her instead. They had expressed to each other time and time agian how they wished they would have escorted Vitani instead, Perhaps then she might not have been hurt so badly.
They both agreed that either of them being hurt was better then seeing her so colse to leaving them forever...
Suka and Nuka were always getting hurt somehow, It was normal to them after a lifetime together, But to see Vitani in such a fragile and helpless state, It hurt them in a way they never knew possible.

Suka awoke to see Nuka still there, Snoring slightly as it was still very dark outside, It might have been a few hours after the had went to sleep that he had awoke suddenly with a shock.
Vitani was still laying there. he half smiled as he went up to her to see if she was asleep.
As he looked to her, a presence shifted behind him.
Suka whipped around, Ready to confront whatever was behind him, Yet he came face to face with Scar, He wore a long face,as he stared off into space.
Dad, Is everything okay? he asked As Scar looked to his son.
Scar's face hung as he spoke.
No, Have you not knoticed yet? asked Scar looking dumbfounded.
Knoticed what? asked Suka as he looked around.
Scar walked up to Suka and embraced him as he spoke.

My son, As we slept, She quietly passed away in the night...

Mokara set, Claws gleaming before her as she spoke.
Another life, Snuffed out by my cunning will and claws, These grand claws that shall soon tear each and eveyr one of thos wretched creatures apart until only... SHE is left. Then Moki, Then we shall dine together once agian. she smiled as she looked up into the stary night sky.
I have slain the princess, I must prepare for war now, Instead of hunting them, They will most likely be looking for ME now, I must prepare for a fight, But I ma wounded Moki, That tramp has hurt me my love, I still bleed from the wound she gave me, Help me Moki, Ley my eyes open to tomorrow and not a world of eternal darkness, Not just yet, I'm not done with my mission yet...

Suka awoke with a shock as he set, Scared to look to Vitani, But unable not to...
His head lifted to see her chest rising and falling slowly, He was so elated, he forgot about her condition and hugged her by accident. Her insuing howl brought the attention of the entire pride in seconds...

As everyone came scrambleing into the den as they heard Vitani's shreik they came to Suka yelling over Vitani's moans.
I'm SOO sorry Vitani, I just had a REALLY bad dream... I was just so glad to see you breathing when I woke up... Suka turned to see everyone looking at him as he had already explained they whole story.
Sorry about that. he grinned.
Nuka chuckled as he came from the collected group.
Ya didnt have to kill the environment did ya? he asked with a grin.
Suka looked puzzled however.
Oh yea, You've been asleep all this time, You might want to come see this, Just... Dont pounce anymore of our injured, K Suk? he chuckled as the group went back to their daily lives.
The pride seemed very upbeat toady, The lioness were streached out, basking in the sunlight, Others snoozing peacefully.
Suka almost shreiked as he saw Takuda and Duka out int the savanna, More then three lengths from Singa and Kamira. Nuka stopped him however as he shook his head and motioned his brother on.
Suka was shocked, Quite worrysome, Yet wondeing how his family was being so careless...

Nuka led Suka out into the savanna a few paces beyond Pride Rock.
So, What am I supposed ta be lookin for? asked Suka, Looking all around as if it was going to be right there before him.
Suka, It's way out in the savanna, Mother found...her... this morning while on her walk. She saw the vultures first. spoke Nuka slowly.
Vultures? Nuka... Who's hurt? asked Suka, obviously fearing the coming answer.
Nuka looked to the burning sun as he answered.
Not hurt Suka...Dead. smiled Nuka.
Suka looked to his brother, Suddenly sickened seeing his brother smileing as he spoke of someone passing on.

It took a few moments before Suka put the words Her, Dead, And Nuka's smileing together...

Nuka, Are you telling me...Mokara is...gone? asked Suka, Not knowing weather to cheer or remorse.
Nuka only nodded his head.
Overcome by the wounds she suffered last night, The evil and hideous Mokara has fallen to a mortal wound to her heart. spoke Nuka.

But, I dont get it. How did she just up and...Die like that, I thought Mokara was stronger then that. spoke Suka, Feeling a weight lift from the air.
Apparently not as we had feared my brother, She may have had a heart of total blackness, But she WAS mortal, And she bled to death, As any of us could. spoke Nuka.

So, It's over? We dont have to worry about our pride concerning her anymore... Added Suka.
Nuka just shook his head,
No my brother, It's over, I can take you to her final resting place if you wish. frowned Nuka as he looked to his brother's distant expression.

Nowhere to run my brother, You'd better get moving. he snickered as his claws partialy extended into the dirt for the best traction, Preparing to pounce.

Nuka took off into the savanna as Suka took chase.
Run Nuka, RUN ! laughed Suka as he was already gaining on his brother.
Nuka gave it his all as he turned sharply, Putting all his effort forward as he put great distance between them, Laughing as he knew Suka couldnt take turns as well as he could...
Darnit, Get back here you worm ! yeleld Suka as Nuka could tell Suka was gaining agian.
Nuka saw the distant from of Zira and Scar.
Ha, I see freedom ahead ! he chuckled as he bolted toward them.
Suka saw them take notice as two lions were helling toward them both.
NUKA ! You coward ! laughed Suka as Nuka tackled Scar to the ground and yelled.

Suka was only seconds behind as he came to a NEARLY perfect stop, Plowing into a Zira that didnt get out of the way quite in time.
Scar pushed Nuka off him as he looked to the two with a half enraged, Half laughing expression.
Suka went to help Zira up, But was batted away.

So, If I dare ask, What were you two doing chasing each other through the savanna like two careless cubs? asked Zira.

Suka and Nuka looked to each other, laughed, Then both coursed,

Scar furrowed his brow as Zira smiled.

Yes, Mokara is gone and what is more, Im do beleave Vitani has made it through the evening. This has been quite a journey, But I beleave it is time to pass the torch soon. smiled Scar.

What we mean my sons, Is we need to crown a new king and queen, Your father and I are ready to step down to a new generation of rulers.
Suka and Nuka both looked to each other in puzzlement.
Scar nodded his head as Zira looked to him.
My son's... It's time, You have to understand this, Your mother and I cannot rule forever, Fate will see ot that, Now, You two need to think amonst yourselves, As there can only be one king, And one queen.

This leaves us at a difficult decision. spoke Zira.
We have two majestic sons, That would make splended kings, And a wonderful daughater that would be a queen the likes of no other. spoke Scar.

Scar turned to leave, But Zira didnt leave her place, Looking to her sons, Then to Ariz's out toward the west.

She then looked back to Suka and Nuka when Scar walked off to Pride Rock.
Suka, Nuka, I KNOW neither of you want to rule our kingdom, Nor neither do you want to take on this responsibility, And Ariz has spoken to me about your inner feelings too... sighed Zira.
Suka and Nuka looked up from their confusion.
Zira just looked them both in the eyes.

Just beacuse your father and I am stepping down, That dosent mean we're giving up on life, Not at all, We would just be so proud to see our son's both as rulers of our lands, But there cannot be TWO rulers, That would eventually split our family and create a war... spoke Zira.

Suka and Nuka just stood silent.
I myself would allow you both to rule, And see for yourself how things would turn out, But your father sees things much diffrently, It is his opnion that this should, In your two's place, Be decided by a battle between the two of you for power, You should WANT to fight for the crown. spat Zira.
I WOULD agree, IF we still lived in a land of hostility, A king would NEED to be strong for his pride, Here however, You BOTH poess all that is needed in a king, Right in your very hearts and minds. she smiled.

What if Tani were to be mated with an outsider? spoke Suka.
It couldnt be just ANY filthy outsider, That i'd make darn sure of... spat Nuka.

Back at Pride Rock, Suka and Nuka were just about to enter the dens when they were confronted by Scar.

I heard of your decsion for neither of you to step forward. While I honor you lack of wanting to fight each other for the crown, You BOTH dissapoint me in not WANTING it either... If both of you fear the leadership of pride Rock, Then I will have to find a rouge that fits the role instead and have Vitani as queen. it would be a pity however... Two sons, and neither wanting to be king... With that Scar padded off into the savanna.
We cant allow this, We both know Vitani dosent want a life of queen ship, She just wants to be herself. Dont get me wrong, I'd love to see Vitani's children... But I dont like the idea... It's not right, We need to step up to the plate and rule the Pridelands. spoke Nuka.
Nuka looked to Suka, He could tell Suka was thinking about something.

I'm going to ask mother a question. Spoke Suka as he walked off into the dens leaving Nuka clueless.
In the royal den Suka found Zira napping in her favorite spot. He slolwy approached her and tapped her on the shoulder to wake her up.
She quickly came to and looked to see who had awoken her.
Oh, hello dear, Is there something you needed? she asked.
Well, I had a question I wanted to ask you. spoke Suka.
Zira just nodded her head.

She just remained silent for awhile before opening her eyes and looking at Suka as she spoke.
You realise this could only end in Disagreements at the least, Fighting over power, and in the worst case, war.

Zira looked to her son concerned, Not quite sure what he had in mind, But she had a strong idea.
There were two princes in the family, and both were mated... In history, there had only been one pride like such that ever remained as one pride, And they distroyed themselves...
Suka was talking about leaving the pride with Kamira...
And starting their own pride.
