How Bad Is It? (WIP)

Magnus had both of his hands clasped over his face, snarling in pain and anger. The blood ran fast and black down his trembling hands.
Nenya was taken aback, horrified, but drawn to him nevertheless. Kneeling quietly beside him, she placed on hand on his shoulder and the other on his wrist. Deyna and Mako hung back, whispering fearfully, the sight of their prince bleeding terrified them.

“Let me see, Magnus. You have to show me.” Nenya’s voice trembled, but she was firm. The prince was almost mad from pain, but he allowed her to touch him still. Nenya managed to pull one hand lose, and caught a quick glimpse of the horrible red gash that cut across Magnus’ brow and down to his eye that was clenched fast. He quickly drew his other hand over it. If he ever saw through that eye again, it would be a miracle.

“Cursed blades cut deep,” she thought grimly.

This is another black and white WIP I want to finish up all pretty-like for you fine peoples. 'Tis a scene from my story that explains an odd blue streak that Magnus has in his right eye. More details on that will follow. Anyways, these four young dragons were attacked while far from help and Magnus took injury. Assassination attempt on Prince Magnus? Maaaaybe. More pieces of the story will wander in eventually. (By the way, two of the slits on Nenya's neck are gills, she's not just really wrinkley. Yeah. Water dragon.)

Magnus, Nenya, Deyna and Mako are all MINE. *hordes* (Especially the first three. >__>...)
