LizzyC The Librarian 10
LizzyC the Librarian
Chapter 10: Clueless
During the times of modern, there is one librarian that is not so librarian like and that librarian is LizzyC. It was just a normal day at the library. Right now Larry was in periodicals helping Ted check out laptops to patrons. When they checked out the last laptop, they started to chit-chat for a while. Let’s see what they are talking about.
“How have you been?” Ted asked Larry as he was looking at a random magazine.
“Life is awesome,” Larry replied, “I got an idea, why don’t you and Lizzy go on a date. So what if she has a boyfriend. You guys would make a perfect couple.”
“Just admit you want Lizzy for yourself,” Ted said with a sigh.
“What’s wrong bro?” Larry asked, “Did she dump you?”
“Well, it’s a long story,” Ted replied, “To make it short, she did dump me.”
“Why would she do that?” Larry asked as he was reading a car magazine.
“She is one of those clueless women,” Ted replied, “She didn’t notice my southern accent until now. Then she insulted me and we went our separate ways.”
Now being as clueless as Larry is, he didn’t even notice Ted’s accent until now. Larry is the kind of person that doesn’t notice another person’s differences until it’s either pointed out, or the person tells him about it.
Huh? Ted has a southern accent? Larry thought as he was just being clueless as usual.
“You have a southern accent?” Larry blurted out load.
“Yes I do, what about the accent?” Ted asked.
“Oh, nothing,” Larry replied.
Larry didn’t know what to do, he didn’t want to insult Ted but at the same time, he really wanted to make a few wise cracks.
“Does this mean that Cornel Sanders is your uncle?” Larry blurted out without even having a second thought.
Ted just gave Larry an angry glare, Ted felt insulted by Larry’s remark. He couldn’t believe Larry would just say things without thinking.
“What’s wrong bro?” Larry asked, “You seem like you’re mad at someone.”
“Why do you like ripping on people?” Ted asked, “First it was Charles and now it’s me.”
“Oh…Now I get it,” Larry replied, “I’m sorry Ted, I didn’t mean it.”
“Good,” Ted said as he checked in a few laptops.
As soon as it was one o’clock, Larry went on his break and went to the staff lounge. Lizzy was there talking to Denise about life. That’s when Larry walked over and sat next to them. Denise looked at Larry and wondered why he was sitting next to her and Lizzy.
“So, I heard that you’re single now, Lizzy” Larry said as he overheard Lizzy and Denise’s conversation.
“You know it’s rude to butt into other peoples conversations,” Denise said to Larry.
“Well, I might be single,” Lizzy replied to Larry as she sighed, “If that happens, I’ll have guys all over me like crazy.”
“Well, Ted is now single,” Larry said, “As I said before, you two would make a great couple.”
“That’s true,” Denise added, “Ted is such a nice guy. I wonder why any woman would break up with him.”
“Well, I don’t want to say, that’s between Ted and me,” Larry said as he drank some iced tea.
“Does Lucy know that you broke up with Gabe?” Denise asked Lizzy.
“Yes, she does know,” Lizzy replied to Denise, “She actually didn’t blame me for making this decision.”
“Wow, that is shocking,” Denise said.
“Well anyways, have any of you guys noticed Ted’s southern accent?” Larry asked.
“You hadn’t noticed,” Denise replied, “Remember the Halloween when he wore that white suit?”
“I thought he was Cornel Sanders,” Larry said as he laughed a bit.
“Uh…even though I wasn’t working here that Halloween,” Lizzy added, “Even I would know that he was dressed up as a southern gentleman.”
“Oh, that’s what he was;” Larry said, “Now I know why he wasn’t giving out free chicken.”
“Larry, you’re just a hopeless case,” Denise said, “I hope you’re not going to pick on him like you did to Charles.”
“Nah…I wouldn’t do that,” Larry replied, “Charley-Char is my buddy and Ted is my brother.”
Denise and Lizzy just nodded and started finish their lunch. Thirty minutes passed and Larry bumped into Ted.
“So did you hear the news?” Larry asked Ted.
“No,” Ted replied, “What news?”
“Lizzy is single now,” Larry replied, “You better get her before Mr. Adams does.”
Ted was in shock, he couldn’t believe Lizzy was single. He knew Lizzy before she even worked at the library. Ted kind of had a crush on Lizzy and Lizzy had a crush on Ted. So many thoughts raced through Ted’s mind. What if she doesn’t like me? What if she doesn’t like my accent? Also, what if Mr. Adams tries to take her? So many questions but, there aren’t any answers to them.
“Hey bro,” Larry said, “I’ll be there for you every step of the way.”
“Ok but, you better not steal my future girlfriend!” Ted replied.
“Relax bro,” Larry said, “Lizzy wouldn’t date me, even if I was the last man on earth. Also, Denise would stop her from doing that.”
Ted nodded and went back to work. Meanwhile, Lizzy and Ms. Liz were talking about relationships and why Lizzy broke up with Gabriel. Let’s listen in.
“So, why did you break up with Gabriel?” Ms. Liz asked.
“Well, I saw him cheating on me,” Lizzy replied, “This was no ordinary cheating, need to remind you.”
“Wow, that’s shocking,” Ms. Liz said as she pulled a book off the shelf.
Then Lucy popped out of nowhere and said, “Well, he isn’t that bright anyways.”
“I thought you didn’t want me to break up with him, Lucy.” Lizzy commented.
“I was wrong,” Lucy said, “If he was really a vampire, he would have made you a ‘member’ of his family. So that means he really isn’t a real vampire.”
“How would you know?” Lizzy asked, “If he isn’t a real vampire or not?”
“It’s hard to explain,” Lucy replied, “But don’t worry, I am not mad at you.”
Lizzy nodded and pulled a few more books off the shelf.
“Was Gabriel with another girl?” Ms. Liz asked.
“Yes he was, but the worst part is,” Lizzy replied, “He was with Ted’s girlfriend.”
“Oh my goodness,” Ms. Liz said as she was in shock, “Why would he do that?”
“I don’t know and I don’t care anymore,” Lizzy replied, “All I know is, it’s time for me to move on.”
Ms. Liz nodded and they continued taking books off the shelves. Back to where Ted and Larry were, Ted told Larry all about what happened and why he had to break up with his girlfriend.
“That is just wrong,” Larry said, “So you’re telling me that, Gabriel was with your girl?”
“Yeah,” Ted replied as he sighed, “Maybe that’s why Lizzy is single now.”
“Well, Lizzy doesn’t take garbage from anyone,” Larry said, “I am sure that Lizzy will like you for who you are. I also heard that she likes southern gentlemen.”
“Larry, I might have been raised in Georgia but, I am Zababylonian,” Ted replied.
“That’s even better!” Larry exclaimed, “She will like you even more.”
Ted just nodded, picked up a magazine and started to read it. Back in the children room, Fabian and Michael heard what happened.
“Hey Michael,” Fabian said as he was reading a manga, “I heard Lizzy broke up with Gabriel.”
“Good for her,” Michael said as he was watching a movie, “This new One Piece live-action is awesome!”
“I know man!” Fabian said as he decided to watch the movie with Michael.
A few hours passed and it was closing time, Lizzy was heading towards her car, that’s when Larry and Ted was at their car waiting for Lizzy.
“Hey Lizzy,” Larry said, “Ted would like to tell you something.”
Larry took a few steps back as Ted got ready to tell Lizzy that he likes her.
“Lizzy,” Ted said as he was blushing and nervous at the same time, that’s when his accent grew stronger, “Will you go out with me?”
“Sure,” Lizzy said happily with cheer, “Let’s go then!”
Ted nodded and went into Lizzy’s car.
“Well, have fun bro,” Larry said as he drove off.
Life sometimes leads you to a whole different direction, but whatever that direction is; make sure it is the right one. As for Lizzy and Ted, their adventure just started. Is Lizzy still going to be friends with Gabriel? Only time can answer that question. But knowing Lizzy, she will try her hardest not to let that friendship die. Even though their boyfriend and girlfriend relationship is over, they could still be friends. Well, stay tune to the next LizzyC the Librarian.
