America’s Dream


America’s dream
Dream that needs to be told
Told among the nations, seas, and the people
People that need peace from war
War that never have been implored
Implored when could have had freedom
Freedom that still requires justice
Justice among America is truthful
Truthful as a day’s dawn grows
Grows up from the dim night
Night that contained a warrior’s cry
Cry that sheds tears but also blood
Blood that helped the nation
Nation that is fighting for peace
Peace that America needs right now
Now for a time of a dream
Dream yet to be found in America
America’s dream

This is a poem that was written on the day we learned that we had to go to war with Saddam. I cried that night but the afternoon of that very day I wrote this and my teachers were telling me I am making America seem evil and that is not my goal, my goal is to share my feelings and to share what I view daily sometimes. I perish the thought to destroy the poem but many would not let me because it held my sight of America's dream!
