Twilight- A Poem Based on the Novel

The day is not yet gone,

And yet I can’t help but hold on

Yes, I will be with you always

Even if it leads to never-ending hallways

To this dream I hope is reality

Even if I lose my mortality

I can’t help but stay with you

For you make my world anew

The sun, the fading sun which makes you sparkle so

You’re like the breeze coming in through my window

No, the day is not yet gone,

And yet- I can’t help but hold on

For you are my future, my life, my hope

Let’s escape this world and elope

Our love runs so very deep

It’s seem I’m awake; before asleep

The darkness settles over the land

As the bright blue moon begins to expand

Together we’ll somehow manage to survive

Perhaps we may even continue to thrive

Oh, I can’t wait for a brand new day

So we can continue on this way!

And now the dawn is breaking

An explosion of light is making

Your skin glow so

And I can’t help but to know

That we’ll get through it all

No matter how hard we may fall

You’ll have me, and I you

Yes, somehow we’ll come through!

And live for the treasured twilight,

And be guided by the wonderful moonlight

And soak up the so-bright sunlight

For the day is not yet gone,

And I will always stubbornly hold on
