Payback- Chapter 2
3 months later on the five year anniversary of her rape, Emily was discharged from the ICU. She went to go live in the country with July and they began planning on how Emily was going to get her life back. When they finally worked it out, they set their plan into motion.
To complete their first task, July took Emily to the Valleyview City Mall and used a payphone to call the police. they then went to the police station to turn him in to make sure they got the right description. The police took a paddywagon to 149 N. Maple Ave to arrest Micheal. They arrived at 1:45 a.m. to find him on top of a 15 year old girl with her hands bound with the same orange extension cord he had used on Emily.
He was just about to begin to penetrate her when the police busted down the door. One cop, Detective Sgt. Amy Dantangelo, grabbed a sheet and cobered the young girl while she unbound her. The young girl, Kirstie, tightly clung to Amy.
"It's okay, you're safe now," Amy said gently, embracing Kirstie.
"You're coming downtown with us, you perverted scumbag," Amy veered as she puched Micheal out the doorway with nothing on but a pair of cold, silver handcuffs. As he was being shoved out the door, it was brought to her attention that he had a triple six tattoo on the edge of his left earlobe.
When they got to the station, she put Micheal, along with five other convicted rapists, in a lineup, Micheal being last. Emily and July peered through the one-way mirror. Emily looked at each man's face for about a minute. As soon as her eyes met his, she knew it was he that has raped her.
"Number Six," she said, with quiet fear.
"Number Six, please step forward to the line," came another voice.
A faint rustling of shackle chains and he is in clear view now. Emily's heart skipped a few beats.
"That's him," she frightfully whispered to the guard. He nodded to someone in an office behind a sheet of big black glass and led the ladies out of the observation chamber.
On the way home, July was unusually quiet.
"What's wrong, Jules?" Emily cautiously inquired.
"Nothing Em. Dont worry about it."
"okay. Im just trying to help. I just want to know what's wrong, why you are so quiet. You're never this quiet, Jules.
"I said dont worry about it, Emiliy!" July snapped.
"Fine, Jules. I will leave you alone. Forever," Emily sadly stated.
"Whatcha talkin' 'bout Ems?" July questioned.
as the '53 black Baretta crept towards 145 E. Brockenwoodway Ave, the two were silent.
As july stopped at the sidewalk in front of Emily's house, Emily quietly replied "Consider this teh end of our friendship." As she enunciapted the last sylable, she got out of the car teary-eyed.
"What?!?" july said, surprised that her best friend would do something like that over a stupid little thing. She hoped Emily had hear her, but Emily was already at her front door, looking in her Gucci bag for her house keys.
