Payback- Chapter 1

Beep...Beep... Beep. Women sobbing, men consoling their wives, daughters, friends, and mothers. So many people, so many sounds. She feels weak, scared, helpless. There are strange things in her arm, a cold bed beneath her, a very warm mblanket on her, and many fingers upon her unmoving body.
Am I dead? she thought to herself.
She slowly opens her beautiful eyes to reveal a bright white light in fron t of her. Her fingers feel cold, so she makes an attempt to move them. It was a success. All ten work. A familiar, yet strange voice rings out, "She's awake! Thank you God, she's awake!". A nurse hurries into the room to se what all the noise is about. She hastens back out of the foom with jubilation to tell the doctor the good news. The bed beneath her moves and she is finally at an angle where she can see from whom all the fuss is coming.

So many strange, yet familiar faces. The handsome one who stood by the bed softly said, "Sweetheart, do you know where you are?"

Suddenly, the memories came flooding back. The man who raped her, who deflowered her precious innocence was stading beside her trying to comfort her. Her face lost all color. He softly touched her arm as he had done that horrid night of June 18th, and she pulled away and began screaming. The nurse came back in with the doctor and ordered everyone to leave.

as soon as he left, she began to calm down. The sweet doctor asked her what was wrong, and she told him everything about that night. How he had bound her hands and feet to the bed with an orange extension cord, how he has torn off her clothing and proceeded to rape her, and how she remembers him leaving her in that smelly one bedroom apartment to die. She broke down as she recalled what he did to her. As salty rivers of tears were constantly flowing down here cheeks, the nurse held her tightly, ricked back and forth, and sang "Hush Little Baby" just as her mother had dont before she passed away 15 years ago. The doctor went out into the hallway and told everyone that they must leave.

Her best friend July asked if she could stay after everyone else left. The doctor seen no harm in it. As soon as July walked in the door, Emily cried out for her. She told July about what happened and July reassured her that she would get her life mack no matter what it takes.
