This is a composition I had to write for my "piano lessons for non-majors" course at my university. Initially, it was going to be very simple and I was going to just stick with the opening theme, but I decided to get a little bit more complicated (you know me!) by inserting some stuff I learned in my "music theory for non-majors" course.
For those of you who know some music theory, I tried playing around with deceptive and plagal cadences, the former modulating the piece into E minor, which is the relative minor of G, into which I modulated at the end of the A section.
The piece is kind of slow paced, except for the C section (or B', depending on how you look at it). But I'm just getting started, really, with writing for piano, so I gotta start somewhere!
Edit: Thank you BBD.
