Between Black & White: Broken Hearted Dreams
Chapter 11: Come Alone

A new school day had already come, Blaze and Louis had already arrived for the day. The two of them stepped through the door to the classroom together. Blaze started for his desk right off the bat while Louis scanned the faces of the people who had already arrived before them. He noticed one key thing. That Sara wasn’t there, it wasn’t like her to be absent even for a day and never in her whole school history had she ever arrived late.

“That’s weird.” Louis stated as he headed for his desk next to the one Blaze had already taken a seat at.

Blaze glanced over towards Louis. “What’s wrong?”

“Sara isn’t here today.”

“So? Everyone needs a break every now and then, right?” Blaze turned his attention away from Louis as he glanced up towards the front of the room and the desk where the blond haired girl would usually be seated.

It wasn’t weird for a student to miss a day and Blaze knew that considering at his last school he had made a hobby of skipping school quite often. However Sara had a different attitude about school and education then him. Even if she was lacking in the friends department she still kept top grades in class which was the opposite of Blaze.

Louis could understand his stand completely as it was common for kids to take days off here and there. However he didn’t see Sara as being one to miss many days but there was nothing wrong with missing a single day.

The conversation ended after that and class had soon started. Sara never did arrive. Soon it was time for Blaze and Louis to head to the cafeteria for lunch. However that day was about to take a turn for the worst when Jasmine and Torque approached the two of them. Jasmine has a folded piece of paper in hand. Both of them looked quite concerned as both Blaze and Louis looked from one to the other.

“Is something wrong?” Louis asked being the first to break the tension filled silence.

“Yeah, I think you two should see this.” Jasmine replied as she slowly lifted her hand holding the sheet of paper towards Louis who took it from her hand.

At the time Blaze was uninterested in whatever it was that could be on that sheet of paper however his view would quickly change.

Louis glanced over the first few line written on the paper. A look of concern quickly came over his face before he started to read aloud. “We have her. If you want her back then you best come alone, monster kid. We’ll be waiting at the athletic field. Remember, come alone.” Louis read slowly before looking back up towards the others.

The look on the face of Blaze quickly changed from uncaring to what appeared to be rage. His eyes had narrowed and his fists clenched at his sides.

“Who sent it?” Louis asked as he finally looked up from the sheet of paper noticing the look of rage forming in the eyes of Blaze.

Jasmine and Torque looked at each other and then back to the two other boys. “We think it may have been Alice and Kurt.” Jasmine replied slowly as she watched for the black haired boys reaction.

“That guy from yesterday?” Louis asked.

“Where’s the athletic field.” Blaze stated in a calm voice while completely ignoring the question coming from the mouth of Louis.

Blaze didn’t care who it was that was responsible all he was interested in was getting there and making sure that Sara was safe. He had made it his top priority to protect her from anyone at that school. Whether it be Tiffany and her goons or whoever it was to rise up this time around.

Both Jasmine and Torque looked at each other once again before looking back to Blaze. They too ignored the blond haired boys questioning for the time being. “If you want I’ll show you the way.” Torque spoke up after about a minute of silence.

Blaze turned and started to walk in the direction of the nearest exit. Torque stood frozen in place for a second before rushing after the black haired boy leaving Jasmine and Louis standing there.

The two of them headed out the back entrance to the school where there were no video cameras set up. They were trying to make it out without attracting the attention of the administrative body present in the school.

Near the school there was a paved road leading up a large incline. This road connected to the main road which lead passed the school as well as the school parking lot. This road led up to the athletic field where all Stone High sporting events took place. Both Blaze and Torque soon stood at the bottom of this inclining road.

“Go back now, I go alone from her.” Blaze stated in a cold tone with his eyes narrowed and fist clenched still. Torque hesitate before slowly turning back the way they had come previously.

“You sure about this Blaze?” Torque asked, glancing back in the direction of the black haired boy. He got not response from Blaze knowing that he was serious about going on his own. Torque started to walk off just as Blaze started to make his way up the paved road.

At the end of the road there was a large stone walled stadium with a large fenced in field to the center. To either side of the field were metallic colored bleachers much like the ones present in the schools gym. The entrance to this stadium was a large stone arch gate which stood wide open at that time. Blaze stood before this gateway.

He didn’t hesitate as he rushed right into the stadium proceeding through the opening in the chain link fence around the field. He soon stood near the very center of the far end of the field as he looked around desperately searching for the missing blond haired girl.

She was there, seated in the front row of the bleachers to the same side of the field as the gateway entrance. She was seated there alongside Alice as well as Kurt.

“Blaze!” Sara called out for Blaze as he turned to face the direction of where they were sitting. From where he was standing he couldn’t clearly see the expressions on the faces of the three in the bleachers.

Both Kurt and Alice were in fact grinning with Sara near the point of tears. “I was worried you wouldn’t come, Blaze…” Sara whispered to herself softly not even loud enough for her two captures to hear.
