The Padlock
My mind was locked within
But you brought to me the key;
As I emerged from the shadows
I found the rest of me.
Didn't know what I was missing
Until I first came alive;
As you woke the heart within
It beat so I could thrive.
But this new way of seeing
Is too often bittersweet;
For now you leave my side
And my spirit knows defeat.
