2005
* Just starting out. Was learning new techniques, and following a lot of tutorials. These were the only two signatures I made that year, that I was actually happy with.
2006
* Was getting a hell of a lot better. Started experimenting a bit with my own way of doing things, but still using tutorials for reference every now and then. These are actually both the same signature, the first is the original. A request that was made over at PS3Network. the second is a redo of the original just for the hell of it.
2007
* This is when I started to grasp signature making enough to be able to actually make a signature without the need of a tutorial. I also started to write my own tutorials as well.
2008
* The current year. I'm getting much, much better I feel. these two tags are my favorites of the year so far. The first was made earlier this year, the second is just a few days ago.
All in all, I feel I've improved quite a bit over the past few years [It really doesn't feel like it's been that long, though.]

It seems to me at first you were just dabbling with various effects, splicing images and trying layer/filter effects. Overall the results were good but a higher level of confidence, understanding and expertise is shown through the work that came after 2005/2006, as by then, you seemed to really be able to project an idea through art confidently and strongly.
I like the idea of grouping it together too, one work is alright, but two really give it a sense of comparison as we all produce one 'best' artwork every year.
Nicely done, nicely improved and keep it up. :)
